"Thrills at Night" is an item in Paper Mario: The Origami King. It is one of four DJ discs found in the Temple of Shrooms, and it is purple with red writing. Unlike the other discs, this one is necessary for making Hole Punch leave his room, as it is the only track DJ Toad can play that he enjoys. In a room with coffins south of DJ Toad, Mario must hammer a torch to move a wall and open an entrance to another room. Inside is a small hallway with a Toad statue holding the "Thrills at Night" disc. If Mario tries to take it, a folded Black Shy Guy emerges from the statue and swats Mario with a paper fan, dealing 1 damage. Mario must first hammer the statue, and a Magic Circle will spawn. He must then use the 1,000-Fold Arms to grab the disc from a safe distance without getting swatted.

When Mario brings the disc to DJ Toad, the disc jockey plays the disc for Hole Punch, who enjoys it, but requests that Mario find people he can dance with. Professor Toad carries around a boombox with "Thrills at Night" playing on it, drawing the faceless Toads to follow them around the temple. Once 40 faceless Toads have been collected, they dance with Mario, and Hole Punch jumps out his lair to join them.

After Hole Punch is defeated, Mario can visit DJ Toad in a room with a pool inside Shroom City Royal Hotel to have him play "Thrills at Night". This makes the Toads in the room dance differently than the other five discs.

The song's style and name are a reference to the song "Thriller" by Michael Jackson. Mario and the Toads' dance is also a reference to the dance depicted in the song's music video.[1] Additionally, an unused track in the game's files sounds very similar to the original song.
