Please make sure to give your files descriptive file names, like "(media) (subject).png" (e.g. something like "TSMBM Bullet Bill.png" instead of just "Bulletbill.png"). Also, most of your Mario movie mages are very blurry/low-quality; try to avoid using low-quality videos for your images or enlarging the images, as this makes the blurriness more evident. It looks like Jtendo had a similar sentiment. Like I said, I think it's best discussed on the book's talk page. It took a massive community decision to decide what to do about Dark Horse and their translation. Enough evidence was compiled near the book's release, one of the translators was confronted about it on social media, and we know for a fact that the wiki was directly referenced for the English version (later Dark Horse publications like the Sonic Encyclo-speed-ia would give thanks to wikis - and before it all came to a head here, some of us had a pretty good idea that Mario Encyclopedia was not the only time similar things have happened). The wiki should likewise have a community consensus about the other publications' translations before making major mainspace edits. If you have serious suspicions with the French version of the book, you should really talk to Mister Wu or Glowsquid about it. They've either interacted with people involved in other translations or know of others who have vetted through the book's other translations, and where things last stood, they helped determine back then that the other translations were not nearly as egregious. Names in other languages[edit]
Hi. What's your source for your names in other languages? I ask because you've re-added that French name of Paper Macho Bob-omb, which isn't named in-game and comes from internal data, and is not identified as a Parabomb in the English or Japanese files. If it is unofficial, it isn't allowed here. LinkTheLefty (talk) 21:59, November 15, 2020 (EST)

Previewing edits[edit]
Hello, Pingouinsandwich. When editing, if you'd like to see how your edits affect a page, use the "Show preview" button next to the "Save changes" button. This allows you to check over your edits for any errors and make any additional changes or fixes before you save, which will prevent edits from flooding the page history and recent changes. (If you are on mobile, make sure to check the preview page thoroughly before proceeding to save.) Please try to avoid making excessive, consecutive edits to a single page within a short timespan and instead limit them to as few as possible. |
Please try to preview so you avoid making several error-fix edits like this. Mario JC 05:57, March 2, 2023 (EST)
Uploads[edit]
Hello, Pingouinsandwich. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly categorize the file. It's simple to learn how to do so. Just search for the correct category by starting with the following groups:
When uploading, copy the full title of the category and insert it in square brackets into the summary text box below the aboutfile template, replacing the uncategorized template entirely. If you're using the upload function from the text editor, simply add the category link to the description. For example, files related to the game Super Mario World would use: or Please consider the above information before uploading more files. Keep in mind that some files can belong to multiple categories. Do not put images into the media files category, or vice versa. If you continue uploading files without categorizing them correctly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing. |
Hello, Pingouinsandwich. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must apply the proper license. A full list of licenses can be found in the file copyright tags category, but the following are the most common:
When uploading, select the license from the drop-down box below the summary text box, or add the license manually after uploading or if you're using the upload function from the text editor. For example, artwork of Mario would use character-artwork. Please consider the above information before uploading more files. Don't include multiple copyright templates; choose the one that you feel best fits the file. If you continue uploading files without applying the correct license, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing. |
