First appearance | Mario Pinball Land (2004) |
Effect | Opens a hole or summons enemies when hit |
Floor panels[1] appear in Mario Pinball Land as objects in the pyramid of the Shifting Sands Stage. If hit by Mario with enough speed, a floor panel opens a hole or summons enemies. The game's floor panels are first seen in the first room of the pyramid, where the left and right floor panels open the holes, while the center floor panel summons Snakes. The floor panels that summon enemies disable other floor panels until the enemies are defeated. Part of an exception is with the Snakes, in which case the floor panels are also reset if a Snake falls through the vent. Another part of an exception is with the Shy Guys in the room with one column, in which case the floor panels are also reset if the Shy Guys return behind the column. If a floor panel is hit in a room where Toad's tent is, the tent disappears. The floor panel that starts a boss fight with the Egyptian Koopa is pressed down forever once the boss is defeated.
There are five rooms inside the pyramid, four of which contain floor panels. In total, there are eight floor panels. They open holes to the lower floor, summon enemies, or start the boss fight.
- On the first floor, there are three floor panels. The floor panel on the left opens a hole to a room with five columns, the floor panel on the right opens a hole to a room with one column, and the floor panel in the middle summons Snakes, which can be defeated to get a Star.
- The room with five columns has two floor panels, which are placed next to the columns in the back of the room. The one on the left summons Shy Guys, which can be defeated to get a Star, while the one on the right opens a hole to a boss fight room.
- The room with one column has two floor panels. The one on the left opens a hole to a boss fight room, while the one on the right summons Shy Guys, which can be defeated to obtain a Star.
- The room with the Egyptian Koopa contains only one floor panel in the middle of the room, which starts a boss fight.
