Sub Areas is the eighth sample course in Super Mario Maker, unlocked as the player receives new course elements and sub areas. It is set in the Super Mario Bros. 3 style. The main area is in the ground theme, and the sub area is in the underground theme.

Layout[edit]

The player starts in an area with some Brick Blocks leading up to a Warp Pipe. The Warp Pipe leads to an underground sub area with Ice Blocks floating above a pit. Koopa Troopas and Piranha Plants can be encountered in the area. A ? Block containing a Super Mushroom can be found above the platform with the first Koopa Troopa. If the player enters the Warp Pipe above the Piranha Plants, they will enter a small area with Chain Chomps and a ? Block containing another Super Mushroom. After the Koopa Troopas and Piranha Plants, the player must jump across Ice Blocks to reach a Warp Pipe at the end of the area. The Warp Pipe will take them back to the main area, where a Chain Chomp on a Lift can be found. An area with One-Way Walls can be found after the Chain Chomp, and then the player will reach the Goal.
