This article is about the move from Mario Tennis Aces. For Duck Hunt's neutral special move in the Super Smash Bros. series, see Duck Hunt § Trick Shot.
Mario performs his Trick Shot.

A Trick Shot is a move introduced in Mario Tennis Aces. It allows the player to quickly move to distant balls and hit them. There are two ways the player can perform a Trick Shot: hitting the ball whilst using Right Stick, or pressing Single Joy-Con Top Button/X Button twice whilst moving in the direction the player wants to go. When used with correct timing, a Trick Shot increases the player's energy significantly, but it is a risky maneuver, since using it with incorrect timing can decrease the player's energy instead. Each character has two unique Trick Shots: a vertical Trick Shot and a horizontal Trick Shot. Which one is used depends on the direction that the ball is in from the character. The Toad commentators in tournaments identify Trick Shots when they are used and refer to them with unique names for each different Trick Shot.
