Eyerok is the boss of [[Shifting Sand Land]]. He resides in the center of the pyramid, inside a chamber. Eyerok attacks by either slamming his fists or trying to push [[Mario]] off the platform. Each fist acts separately. Only one exposes its eyeball at a time, making it vulnerable. A hit from Eyerok takes away three wedges of the [[Health Meter#Super Mario 64 / Super Mario 64 DS|Power Meter]]. He slams down his fists which take away half your life each hit, and tries to push you off the platform. The player must punch his eyes (when open) a few times to defeat him, though the player needs to destroy each hand.
Eyerok can be fought by any of the four player characters in ''[[Super Mario 64 DS]]'', except [[Yoshi]], unless he is wearing a [[cap]], allowing him to destroy the [[Block (Super Mario 64)|Brick]] obstructing the entrance to Eyerok's chamber. If Yoshi were to fight Eyerok, he can attack by [[Slide Kick|slide-kicking]] or [[Ground Pound|ground-pounding]] into the eyes or by eating a flame from one of the small pillars and then [[Fire Power (Yoshi)|breathing it]] into either of Eyerok's open eyes. For [[Wario]], only two hits are necessary to destroy each hand.


It is a possibility that Eyerok didn't have the star, but a unknown creature or spirit inside the coffin at the front of the chamber, since the star is seen coming out of the coffin.

Eyerok, also known as the Hands[1] or Stone Hands,[2] is a boss introduced in Super Mario 64. He is a pair of two large stone hands with an eyeball on each palm, making him a golem-like entity. His name could be either a portmanteau of "eye" and "rock" or a pun on the phrase "I rock."

Eyerok is the boss of Shifting Sand Land. He resides in the center of the pyramid, inside a chamber. Eyerok attacks by either slamming his fists or trying to push Mario off the platform. Each fist acts separately. Only one exposes its eyeball at a time, making it vulnerable. A hit from Eyerok takes away three wedges of the Power Meter. Eyerok can be damaged from either punching, kicking, or diving into the eyeball on either palm. One of Eyerok's hands is destroyed after three hits, but destroying both is required for the Power Star of the mission Stand Tall on the Four Pillars.

Eyerok can be fought by any of the four player characters in Super Mario 64 DS, except Yoshi, unless he is wearing a cap, allowing him to destroy the Brick obstructing the entrance to Eyerok's chamber. If Yoshi were to fight Eyerok, he can attack by slide-kicking or ground-pounding into the eyes or by eating a flame from one of the small pillars and then breathing it into either of Eyerok's open eyes. For Wario, only two hits are necessary to destroy each hand.

Mario Kart DS[edit]

Eyerok appears in Mario Kart DS. He is fought by Mario in the Sand Arena at the end of level 2 of the Missions mode. Eyerok moves around the arena, but he can take damage from Green Shells. After the first and second hits each, Eyerok jumps around in the shape of fists briefly. He begins moving vertically more often after two hits. After three hits, Eyerok is defeated.

Eyerok appears in one of the Super Mario-kun comics. He appears on the cover of the sixteenth issue, which is based on Super Mario 64. His role throughout the comic mimics his role in the game. Though more Super Mario 64 issues exist, Eyerok appears in only one. Mario attempts to attack him, even by flatulating on him, but Eyerok just pokes or smacks him with both hands. After finding out that the eyes are the weak points, Mario takes measures to make them open their eyes and then defeats them.
