There is a special trick that can only be done when you get to Chapter 8-4, the final one. As soon as you begin the Chapter, use your Shell Shock, and just after it launches, use Dashell to chase after it, as it needs to stay on the screen to keep having an effect. Be careful not to actually catch up to it, as you will take a lot of damage. As soon as the door at the end of the corridor appears, jump or use the Return Pipe to avoid being squished by the rebounding shell. This technique gives you around 80,000 EXP each time, and is very cheap. It is easiest to do after finishing the game, when you skip to the Chapter you want.

To use this item, the player must aim the Wii remote at the shell and press A to supersize it. If the player misses, the shell will remain small during the attack.

*The Shell Shock item is actually a 8-bit sprite of a Green Koopa's shell from the game, Super Mario Bros.

*Much like the Shellshockers, Shell Shock shares its name with a term for the state of being constantly frightened by loud noises due to past bad experiences with loud weapons.
