The player must let various characters into the elevator and send them to the correct floors to earn enough points within the time limit. There are four types of characters: Boos, Koopa Troopas, Shy Guys, and Goombas. The maximum occupancy within the elevator is four. If a character waits too long outside the elevator, they grow impatient, signaled by them turning around multiple times, and eventually walk away. These are the four floors, from top to bottom: Boo, Goomba, Koopa, Shy Guy. Sending more of the same character to their floor earns the player more points. Occasionally, a character with a clock over their head appears. The elevator also goes fast to make things happen quickly.

In Shroom City mode, the minimum score that the player must reach to win is 200.
The title is a play on the phrase "floor it," meaning to push a gas pedal far down to make a vehicle accelerate rapidly.

Overview[edit]

Sending more of the same species to their floor increases the timer by a few seconds. The goal in Shroom City and Mini-Game Attack is to score 200 and 1,000 points, respectively.
