In the Mushroom Kingdom, Frog Mario and Frog Luigi are hopping across a bridge over a pond, while Princess Toadstool and Toad follow in swim-wear. Looking up at the clear sky, Princess Toadstool comments that it is a great day for swimming, as there is not a single cloud in the sky. Luigi corrects Princess Toadstool's comment, pointing out to her the huge rain cloud that has suddenly appeared above them. Upon paying closer attention to the "cloud", Mario exclaims that it is actually the Doom Ship, surrounded with steam. Not wanting to be spotted by the Koopas, Princess Toadstool directs her friends to jump into the water.

Not wanting to be spotted by the Koopas, Princess Toadstool directs her friends to jump into the water.

Inside the Doom Ship's engine room, steam from the radiator is starting to flood the place. Kooky, Cheatsy, and Kootie Pie use a monitor to communicate with King Koopa at the helm. Kooky explains that the radiator has overheated, much to Koopa's dismay, as he just got the Doom Ship back from the repair shop. As the entire room starts to shake, Cheatsy remarks that they need water immediately, and Koopa orders his kids to activate the Super Slurp Pipe.

The Super Slurp Pipe extends down from the hull of the Doom Ship into the pond, and starts sucking up the water. Not wanting to get sucked up along with the water, Luigi and Toad hold onto some blocks, while Mario and Princess Toadstool hold onto some coral. However, the force of the Super Slurp Pipe proves to be too much for Princess Toadstool, as she loses her grip and is sucked up the pipe into the Doom Ship. As Princess Toadstool ends up in the radiator, Cheatsy comments that the water managed to cool down the radiator just in time. Kootie Pie, however, whines that it wasn't just in time, and cries about how the steam melted her mascara. Wanting to change the subject, Koopa tells his kids about his latest idea for a "Koopa Caper." With that, Cheatsy recalls the Super Slurp Pipe, and the Doom Ship flies away.

Back aboard the Doom Ship, Kooky is gloating about his Koopa Clogger, and as the rest of the Koopalings cheer, Koopa orders them to get ready for his latest plan: the real world has seven continents, so he assigns each of his seven kids to wreak havoc on one. As the Koopalings are called off by name, they parachute down to their assigned continent.

Back in the Mushroom Kingdom, Mario, Luigi, and Toad have Raccoon Power again, and are struggling to pull the force field out of the pipe using an enormous plunger. However, they wind up pulling the plunger off of the force field, and fling themselves down to the ground, losing their Raccoon Power in the process. Luigi remarks that they have tried everything, and have been unsuccessful in unclogging the pipe. Mario comments that it is the worst clog he is ever seen, but Toad reassures them that Princess Toadstool probably has Koopa begging for mercy by now.

Still tied up by the Chain Chomp, Princess Toadstool tells Koopa that he will never get away with his takeover, but Koopa shows her the truth, and directs her attention to a screen with seven monitors, each one linked to a Koopaling. He first checks in on Bully, who is spraying graffiti all over a wall; he is disappointed with Bully's vandalism, until he learns that the wall is actually the Great Wall of China. Next, Koopa checks in on Kooky, who has turned all the African animals into stuffed animals with his magic wand. He then checks in on Cheatsy, who has used his magic wand to turn every human in Australia into a kangaroo, with the exception of a "Crocodile" Dundee-type man, who he turns into a prawn, explaining that they are "throwing shrimp on a barbie." After that, Koopa checks in on Big Mouth, who has built an Abominable Snowkoopa, which he brings to life to terrorize the penguins of Antarctica. He then checks in on Kootie Pie, who used her magic wand to transform all the artwork in the Louvre into portraits of herself. Checking in on North America, Hip announces that he has taken over all of the TV stations, and is holding a "Koopathon," which will not end until everyone gives him all their money. Lastly, Koopa checks in on Hop, who has turned the Amazon rainforest into a parking lot.

*At the beginning of the episode, Mario is only one crossing the bridge, but in the next shot, his friends appear.
*When the episode begins, Mario is the only one seen going across the bridge, but in the next shot, Luigi, Princess Toadstool, and Toad are present.
*When King Koopa says he just got his Doomship back from the repair shop, Cheatsy's shackles are colored green instead of black.
*The pipe that reaches down from the Doomship into the river is at first orange when it ejects, but turns green like a normal pipe and reverts to orange shortly after Princess Toadstool gets sucked in by accident.
**In the following shot, the lower half of Kooky's body is colored white like his shell's rim instead of orange.
*When the princess is shown traveling up the pipe into the Doom Ship, there are small noticeable "motion" lines outside the pipe.
*When the Koopalings look at the engine, Kootie Pie's shoes are missing.
*When King Koopa reassures Kootie Pie that he will get her anything she wants after her tantrum, the large bow on her head is seemingly behind her head rather than atop her head.
*In several scenes, Princess Toadstool's shoes are colored purple instead of white.
**Additionally, directly after Kootie Pie turns around to command Cheatsy, a single white square briefly appears above her bow for a single frame then vanishes.
*Initially, the pipe that descends from the Doomship is orange, but when Princess Toadstool is sucked into it, it turns green.
*In some shots, Princess Toadstool's skin appears to have a darker complexion than normal.
*When King Koopa reassures Kootie Pie that he will get her anything she wants, a white square briefly appears above her bow for a frame.
*When the Doomship enters the large Warp Pipe into the real world, the hill the pipe travels through is noticeably vibrating.
*In some scenes, Princess Toadstool's skin is tanner than normal.
*When King Koopa orders Kooky to activate the Koopa Klogger to prevent the Mario Bros. from pursuing, Kooky's head is the same color as his snout.
*When the Doomship enters the Warp Pipe into the real world, the hill the pipe is in shakes.
**Kooky's head is again incorrectly colored, this time as orange when he is surprised to see the stuffed animals of Africa transformed back to normal by Luigi.
*When King Koopa tells Kooky to activate the Koopa Clogger, Kooky's head is the same color as his snout while his buckle is colored brown instead of black.
**In that same shot, Bully Koopa's mouth is moving in sync with Kooky, but no words are coming out.
**In the same scene, Bully Koopa's mouth moves, but no sound can be heard.
*The Koopa Klogger's communication antennae (the iron frames at the bottom) are first "hollow" when it is launched, turns "solid" when it activates, and later becomes hollow before Kooky remarks about how well his invention is, and finally becomes hollow again before Princess Toadstool destroys it using a Bob-omb.
*Throughout its appearance, the color of the Koopa Clogger changes several times.
*The map that lists the seven continents of the real world in the Doomship features Africa in a distorted shape.
*The Koopa Clogger's antennas are hollow when it is launched, but when it activates, they turn solid.
*Cheatsy's head is unusually orange (which is a common error in other episodes of the series) at different points in the episode.
*The map of the real world on the Dooomship distorts Africa.
*When King Koopa commands Cheatsy to cause chaos in Australia, Hip's face is a much different shape than usual.
*In several scenes, Cheatsy's head is orange instead of green.
**When Kootie Pie is commanded to wreck havoc in Europe, Hip looks almost morose, which is odd.
*When King Koopa tells Cheatsy to cause chaos in Australia, Hip's face is distorted.
*When Hip and Hop jump off the Doomship to terrorize North America and South America (respectively), Hop is depicted as Cheatsy, which is odd since Cheatsy already ejected from the airship.
*When King Koopa tells Hip and Hop to wreak havoc in North America and South America, Hop's blue hair is colored yellow.
**This also reoccurs when Hop creates a parking lot in the midst of the Amazon Jungle.
*When Hip and Hop jump off the Doomship, Hop is depicted as Cheatsy. This also happens when he turns part of the Amazon Jungle into a parking lot.
*As Princess Toadstool spots and sneaks behind King Koopa to tamper with the levers, the appearance of the handles changes once she gets to them, first having a circular "tops" on them, but then they revert to ordinary levers once she pulls it.
*When Princess Toadstool sneaks behind King Koopa to tamper with the levers, the levers have circular tops on them, but when she pulls them, the tops disappear.
*As King Koopa chuckles over the princess being captured, he has a noticeable extra line on his left eye.
*When King Koopa laughs with Princess Toadstool being captured, he has line on his left eye.
*Albeit falling onto grass after attempting to unclog the Warp Pipe, Toad is seen standing on a large block floating in the air as he reassures Mario and Luigi.
*When Mario and his friends try to unclog the Warp Pipe, Mario's hair is black instead of brown.
*Before King Koopa checks in on Kooky's mayhem in Africa, his hand warps up suddenly as he sits it down, does this again before he checks in on Cheatsy in Australia, and a third time after he checks on Kootie Pie in Europe.
*When Mario and his friends fall after trying to unclog the Warp Pipe, Toad is on grass, but when he reassures his friends, he is on a platform in midair.
*When Luigi says that the Warp Pipe is blocked forever, he speaks through Mario's mouth.
*When Toad tells the Mario Bros. not to worry, he has five fingers on his right hand instead of four.
*When Princess Toadstool says that King Koopa will not get away with his plan, a Paragoomba's body is colored brown instead of white.
*Throughout it appearance, the projector screen misspells Antarctica as "Antartica".
*Several times when King Koopa checks on the Koopalings, his hand suddenly warps up.
*When Cheatsy transforms the "Crocodile" Dundee man into a prawn, there are briefly two of him until the transformation finishes.
*As Cheatsy chuckles at his wrongdoings in Australia, his left eye is slightly open for an unknown reason as opposed to his closed right eye.
*As Cheatsy chuckles at his wrongdoings in Australia, his left eye is slightly open for an unknown reason as opposed to his closed right eye.
*Big Mouth is incorrectly colored a dirty orange as he is seen constructing the Abominable Snowkoopa in Antarctica.
*When showing the screen for Antarctica, it is misspelt as "Antartica."
*Kootie Pie lacks nostrils as she presents Bowser with the paintings of "her" in The Louvre.
*When Big Mouth constructs the Abominable Snowkoopa, his head is colored orange instead of gray.
*Before the screen zooms in on Hip in North America, the visible Great Wall of China on the right lacks the graffiti Bully put on it, which similar in case also happens to the paintings of Kootie Pie in The Louvre which is visible when the screen directs over to Hop.
*In zoomed out shots of The Louvre, the paintings are normal instead of transformed.
*Hip is seen in Antarctica on the screen when King Koopa congratulates his Koopa Kids for their misdemeanors, and the boxes presenting North America, South America, and Europe lack detail from behind their corresponding Koopalings.
*When Kootie Pie presents the paintings of her in The Louvre, her nostrils are missing.
*When Mario, Luigi, and Toad ride on the Para-Beetles through the Warp Pipe, the Para-Beetles are pink instead of red.
*Before the screen zooms in on Hip in North America, the graffiti on the Great Wall of China is missing.
*The lion in the mob of African animals has tan eyes when it chases after Kooky (the same color as its mane and tail).
*When King Koopa is proud of the Koopalings, Hip and Big Mouth have swapped screens while Bully is larger than normal.
*As Luigi watches the animals chasing after Kooky, his head is turning, and in one direction the locks of hair he has behind his head can be seen, but when he looks the other way, the locks are missing.
**In the same scene, the backgrounds on the screens with North America, South America, and Europe are missing.
*When Princess Toadstool snatches the wand from Cheatsy's grasp, she is seen wearing her usual puffy dress instead of her once-piece as her arm reaches for the wand.
*When Kooky's invention is destroyed, the background is that of the Mushroom Kingdom instead of the real world.
*The giant penguin's flipper is blue before as it attempts to squish Big Mouth, and the penguin closest to the screen lacks a bowtie.
**In the same scene, a blue parachute falls to the ground, but when Princess Toadstool picks it up, it turns brown.
*When Mario reforms the parking lot back into the Amazon jungle, Hip is seen being tossed into the air by the transformation instead of Hop.
*When Mario and his friends ride the Para-Beetles through the Warp Pipe, the Para-Beetles are pink instead of red.
*As King Koopa examines the screen after Mario, Luigi, Princess Toadstool, and Toad reform the real world back to normal, several graphical errors can be seen, such as Luigi in Europe, the African animals still plush animals but in Australia, Toad and a city on the Africa savannah, Princess Toadstool in Antarctica, and the 2 jungle natives in North America. Before the Koopalings rush into the room, Princess Toadstool is back in her usual dress and the backgrounds behind Mario and Luigi are a single color.
*When Kooky is surprised to the see the stuffed animals turn back to normal, his head is orange instead of green.
*As five of the seven Koopalings rush into the room, Hop (behind Bully and Kooky) has a green outline around his glasses.
*When Luigi watches the animals chase after Kooky, the hair behind his head disappears a couple of times, while the lion's sclerae are missing.
*Despite that Toad came with the Mario Brothers when they make it into the real world, he is not shown stopping any of the Koopas--although he is shown in one of the seven screens in the Doom Ship, and he's with the others when they regroup at the end.
*When Princess Toadstool takes Cheasty's wand, she has her usual dress instead of her swimsuit while her arm is disconnected from her body.
*During the shot at the end, when Mario's group has met with a sunset in the background, Toad's pants are missing.
*When the scene transitions after Cheatsy runs away, the episode's song "I'ma Hurricane" pitches up heavily for a brief moment.
*When Luigi takes Big Mouth's wand, the rim on Big Mouth's shell is colored white instead of yellow.
*When the penguin try to squish Big Mouth, their flippers are blue instead of yellow, and shortly after, some of their bowties are missing.
*When Mario takes Kootie Pie's wand, the background moves behind them.
*When Mario takes Hop's wand, Hop's sclerae are missing.
*When Mario turns the parking lot back into the Amazon Jungle, Hop is replaced by Hip, while a lamp post can still be seen.
*When King Koopa looks at the screens after Mario and his friends turn the real world back to normal, several graphical errors can be seen, such as Luigi in Europe and the African animals in Australia.
*When the Koopalings return to King Koopa, Hop's glasses are green instead of black, while Kootie Pie's yellow bracelets turn black with white spikes.
*When Koopalings knock over King Koopa, Hip is depicted as Hop, while Hop's hair turns completely yellow.
*Despite Toad coming with the Mario Brothers into the real world, he does not stop any of the Koopas.
*At the end of the episode, Toad's pants are missing.
*When Cheatsy is dragged, his muzzle is short and rounded instead of elongated.
*When Princess Toadstool notices the Bob-omb having a short fuse, the two Paragoombas are missing.

Dub edits
*The scene where King Koopa allots a continent to each Koopaling has several differences between the Latin American Spanish dub and the original.
**After allotting Asia to Bully, the dub adds a line where he asks for him to bring him chop suey. A similar thing occurs with Cheatsy, where he asks for a kangaroo, Kootie Pie, where he asks for a little French woman, and Kooky, where he allows him to bring him nothing.
**After allotting South America to Hop, he recites a line from La Bamba ("y arriba, y arriba, y arriba"), something he does not do in the original.
*In the Romanian dub, King Koopa does not tell the Koopalings to activate the Super Slurp Pipe, with the Koopalings instead doing it on their own accord.

"7 Continents for 7 Koopas" is the twenty-second episode of The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3. It aired alongside another episode entitled "Up, Up, and a Koopa." The episode's name is a reference to the musical film Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.

In this episode, King Koopa sends the Koopalings to each of the Real World's seven continents to cause mischief, forcing Mario, Luigi, Princess Toadstool, and Toad to stop them.

This episode is notable for being the only episode in the series to have at least one full line for every main character.

Plot synopsis[edit]

The group witnesses as the Doom Ship covers them.

In the Mushroom Kingdom, Frog Mario and Frog Luigi are hopping across a bridge over a pond, while Princess Toadstool and Toad follow in swimwear.

Princess Toadstool escapes out of the Doom Ship's engine.

Mario, Luigi, and Toad then surface from the water and head for land, noting that Princess Toadstool has been Koopnapped by accident, and that they need to find Raccoon Power so that they can fly after the Doom Ship. Meanwhile, Princess Toadstool escapes from inside the radiator through a hatch, and climbs out into the now-empty engine room. Wanting to find out what the Koopas are up to, Princess Toadstool heads for the helm, and spies on them from behind the door.

King Koopa steers the Doom Ship through a Warp Pipe, warping it into the real world. Not wanting the Mario Bros. to follow them, Koopa orders Kooky to activate the Koopa Clogger, which, as Kooky claims, will clog every Warp Pipe in the Mushroom Kingdom. Upon being activated, a large, spherical force field appears in the Warp Pipe that the Doom Ship went through, just as Raccoon Mario, Luigi, and Toad fly towards it. Unable to slow down in time, the trio crashes into the force field, lose their Raccoon Power, and fall to the ground. With the Warp Pipe blocked off, Luigi remarks that they cannot follow the Doom Ship and save Princess Toadstool.

King Koopa assigns the Koopalings to each of the World's seven continents.

Back aboard the Doom Ship, Kooky is gloating about his Koopa Clogger, and as the rest of the Koopalings cheer, Koopa orders them to get ready for his latest plan: the real world has seven continents, so he assigns each of his seven kids to wreak havoc on one. As the Koopalings are called off by name, they parachute down to their assigned continent:

  • Bully is ordered to be the "Beast of the East" in Asia.
  • Cheatsy is ordered to "show how low he can go, down under", in Australia.
  • Kootie Pie is ordered to be "a plague in Europe".
  • Kooky is ordered to "go wild" in Africa.
  • Big Mouth is ordered to "blow his hot air all over Antarctica".
  • Hip is ordered to "rediscover North America, and be rotten from sea to shining sea".
  • Hop is ordered to "la bamba" South America.

Princess Toadstool tells herself that she needs to stop the Koopalings before they take over the entire real world, and realizes that she must disable the Koopa Clogger. However, just as she touches the handle, she triggers an alarm, and is quickly surrounded by two Para-Goombas and a Bob-omb. King Koopa tells Princess Toadstool that the Koopa Clogger has an "Echo Goody-Good Warning Device", and calls her his prisoner as a Chain Chomp wraps itself around her.

Princess Toadstool about to aim the Bob-omb at the Koopa Klogger.

Needing a plan to escape, Princess Toadstool looks down at the Bob-omb that is guarding her, and gets the idea to start taunting it. Princess Toadstool calls the Bob-omb a dud that cannot explode, tricking it into setting off its fuse. This reaction scares off the minions guarding Princess Toadstool, who hurriedly picks up the Bob-omb, runs to the upper deck of the Doom Ship, and tosses it at the Koopa Clogger, blowing it up. With the Koopa Clogger destroyed, Princess Toadstool comments that Mario and Luigi can now enter the real world to help her stop the Koopalings.

Mario, Luigi, and Toad watch as the force field disappears, and each hop onto a Para-Beetle, which they ride through the Warp Pipe. As they come out in the real world, they meet up with Princess Toadstool, as she parachutes down from the Doom Ship. Mario heads to the Great Wall of China, where he grabs Bully's wand from out of his hand, and uses it to turn the wall into a Chinese dragon, which chases after Bully. Luigi heads to Africa and steals Kooky's wand, which he uses to turn the stuffed animals back to normal. Normal again, the animals chase after Kooky. Princess Toadstool heads to Australia, steals Cheatsy's wand, and turns all the humans back to normal. She also uses the wand to remove the crocodiles' teeth. As a human, the hunter grabs Cheatsy and nearly throws him on a barbie. Luigi then arrives in Antarctica, steals Big Mouth's wand, and uses it to destroy the Abominable Snowkoopa. Luigi then uses the wand to make the penguins grow huge, and they chase after Big Mouth. At the Louvre, Mario steals Kootie Pie's wand, and uses it to make water pour out of "The Birth of Kootie" portrait, washing her away. Luigi then arrives in North America to whisk Hip away from the camera with a cane. Mario then arrives in South America, pulls Hop's wand away from him, and uses it to restore the rainforest, to the delight of two natives.

King Koopa, who has been observing these events from the Doom Ship, is startled to see his children all running into the helm, tumbling on top of him, screaming for help. Known that they have been defeated, the Doom Ship flies back through the Warp Pipe into the Mushroom Kingdom. Afterward, Mario, Luigi, Princess Toadstool, and Toad have all met up again. Mario thanks Princess Toadstool for helping them save the continents of the real world from the Koopas. Princess Toadstool reminds Mario that after all the times that he and Luigi had saved the Mushroom Kingdom, it was the least she could do.

Dub edits[edit]

  • The scene where King Koopa allots a continent to each Koopaling has several differences between the Latin American Spanish dub and the original.
    • After allotting Asia to Bully, the dub adds a line where he asks for him to bring him chop suey. A similar thing occurs with Cheatsy, where he asks for a kangaroo, Kootie Pie, where he asks for a little French woman, and Kooky, where he allows him to bring him nothing.
    • After allotting South America to Hop, he recites a line from La Bamba ("y arriba, y arriba, y arriba"), something he does not do in the original.
  • In the Romanian dub, King Koopa does not tell the Koopalings to activate the Super Slurp Pipe, with the Koopalings instead doing it on their own accord.
