Francesca, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door

The Wedding Ring is a jewelry and a special item in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. It symbolizes the love between Francesca and Frankie.

After Chapter 5 is cleared, finding Francesca's Wedding Ring is necessary in order to start Chapter 6. While in Keelhaul Key, Francesca loses her ring and refuses to leave the island until it is found. Mario must go to Keelhaul Key to search for the ring, eventually finding it near the entrance to Pirate's Grotto. Mario returns the ring to Francesca, who then goes back to Rogueport alongside Frankie and Mario.

Later, Frankie posts a trouble at the Trouble Center (available after clearing Chapter 6). He has lost his Wedding Ring after returning to Rogueport. In versions of the original game outside of Japan, it is found in front of Garf's house in the easternmost area of Rogueport. In the Japanese version of the original game and all versions of the Nintendo Switch remake, it is found on top of the wall guarded by Gus. When Mario returns the ring to Frankie, he is rewarded with a Gold Card.

Trivia[edit]

  • In the Japanese GameCube version, if Frankie's trouble is cancelled before Mario collects the wedding ring, the ring will not despawn. If another trouble is taken and then the ring is collected, the ring will set a flag that is used by other troubles. This allows some troubles to be progressed simply by collecting the ring.
