When moving files
New rules
----
----
Just an advice. When you move files, you don't need to capitalize words, you just need to move the extension. For example: When you want to move a file called File:Mario and luigi.PNG, you don't need to capitalize "Luigi", you only need to move to "File:Mario and luigi.png". See what i did with :File:Boo blah.png. -- 02:16, May 21, 2019 (EDT)
For your information, Porplemontage recently made some changes to the image use policy, most importantly with this change. 15:31, January 27, 2020 (EST)

::I'm aware. I have cut down a majority of my optimizations, however, in images that display excessive metadata (like the 49 bars iamge today) or specifically metadata with personal information (i've seen a mix of IPs, GPS Co-ordinates, and Iphone names; stuff we don't need readily seen around). If you'd like, I would be happy to assist demonstrating why next time. Trig - 15:39, January 27, 2020 (EST)
:Since they're moving the file anyway, might as well fix any other mistakes in the name while they're at it. There's nothing wrong with that. 02:26, May 21, 2019 (EDT)
::I know there is nothing wrong, i'm just telling him that capitalizing a word is unneeded, and what really matters is the extension. -- 02:31, May 21, 2019 (EDT)
:::They don't have to, but if they want to do that together with the extension, let them. 02:40, May 21, 2019 (EDT)

Smasher 'Shroom Portrait
----
----
Hi, just letting you know that you optimised the wrong size of Smasher's shroom portrait, which results in making this portrait smaller than all the other staff portraits. So, I had to revert it.
::Interesting. Thank you for telling me. My apologies for the inconvenience. Trig - 15:41, February 2, 2020 (EST)

While doing the above is great, why remove the parenthesis from file names? They're easy to type, and the filename is already clear as to what it is. 16:35, June 18, 2019 (EDT)
RE:Autograph
----
----
Try saying that for the three different keys in Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story. Plus, the Super Paper Mario orbs clearly have different sprites, names, and descriptions, so it would be hard to make a good argument without mentioning the Bowser's Inside Story keys as well. 23:09, February 9, 2020 (EST)
::Putting these on multiple talk pages makes the conversation much more difficult. Here's the thing though, I don't necessarily think that the three keys or orbs should have been split. The former is three keys for peach's second floor with the sole distinguishment of color and the orbs are  three orbs for making a bridge in the Overthere. In my opinion, you could have a redirect instead of a page with anchors for the colors specifically. Trig - 08:04, February 10, 2020 (EST)

Additionally, while it's great that you're keeping consistency, some of the images you're moving don't necessary need moving. If the name of the subject is clear, the image does not need to be moved.
:File:NSMBWCW Logo.png
*Renaming to lowercase extension ("File:TopReactorBeginning.PNG" to "File:SMG Lava Reactor Green Platforms.png") is okay.
*Renaming for clarity ("File:Thwomp.png" to "File:SMG Thwomp Artwork.png") is okay.
*"File:Rosalina SM3DW.png" to "File:SM3DW Rosalina Super Galaxy.png" just seems a little pointless, they both mean the same thing.
*Removing one character ("File:MSC - Concept art - Kritter.jpg" to "File:MSC Concept Art - Kritter.jpg") is even more pointless.
I don't mind deleting things that need to be deleted, but you're moving more images than you need to. 00:44, July 15, 2019 (EDT)
:Aditionally, the examples such as Petapeta and Banekiti are among those Alex 95 cited. -- 02:24, July 15, 2019 (EDT)
::I can understand Alex not being keen to the hyphens, but to that I cite "Avoid using punctuation (brackets, colons, dashes, etc.), superfluous words, conversational names and any other padding that may make names longer and more complicated than they need to be." from the image use policy, as well as me personally suggesting that almost all files in that area were being renamed to be appropriate to begin with, and that this only re-affirmed the consistency amongst them. In the future, I will avoid doing this without more reason to do so.
br
::I'd also like to mention that I didn't even do one of these, nor would I have moved that file on it's name anyway. Furthermore, Petapeta and Banekiti were renamed to be accurate to the official name of the enemy as it currently is. Maybe my understanding is wrong, but it was generally understood by to me that file names be accurate to the file. If this is no longer the case, I am willing to completely ignore such inaccurate files, but this requires actually knowing whether or not to do it. This may stem from no clear policy on the approach to name generalizations to exact names. Trig - 15:17, July 15, 2019 (EDT)
:::Also, since I was the one who moved the SM3DW file in question, I'd like to point out that I did so as a naming conflict rename, because its name was too similar to the name of another image (I forgot which image), and I felt that was a good reason to rename it to avoid confusion. -- 15:21, July 15, 2019 (EDT)
::::"Avoid using punctuation (brackets, colons, dashes, etc.)" - In that case, the second dash should've also been removed, but in all honesty, I don't really know why that rule is there. I can understand brackets, since that can mess with coding, but hyphens are usually easy to type...
::::"I didn't even do one of these" - My bad.
::::"Petapeta and Banekiti were renamed to be accurate to the official name of the enemy as it currently is." - That is totally fine. Renaming an image to fit an article's name is acceptable.
::::"file names be accurate to the file" - This is still true, and that's my point. If the name is already accurate, it doesn't need changing.
::::"I'd like to point out that I did so as a naming conflict rename" - @Supermariofan67, thanks for clarifying. 00:48, July 16, 2019 (EDT)
:::::What really is necessary is the extension, not if the file has a conjectural name in it. Also, the beta images renaming was completely unnecessary. -- 13:59, August 11, 2019 (EDT)
::It certainly was not unnecessary, as policy intentionally tries to avoid using Beta. If pages shouldn't be using it, neither should files. Furthermore, conjectural names are not always correct or representative of an image, either due to a different image being uploaded, or an official name being found. Trig - 16:02, August 11, 2019 (EDT)
::It may be beneficial for you to read both the MarioWiki:Image use policy and my terminology section to get a better understanding of why I do things. It's not because it has no purpose. As stated before by Mario JC and insinuated by Alex, it does not hurt to fix the main file name if something is wrong, including information in the file name. === Moving Files on WiKirby ===
Flimflam
----
----
Seeing as you move so many files on mario wiki, would you be interested in helping move files on WiKirby? There's quite a bit of uppercase-extension files there, especially on here (and yes, you can change to monobook skin via your preferences if you don't like default layout). Just an offer since you're such a help here :) Results May Vary (talk) 16:53, June 1, 2019 (EDT)
Firstly, thanks for finding/creating that image for the slot machine page. Secondly, you said the flame creatures are called 'Flimflams' in the "game guide". If you meant instruction manual - it simply calls them 'fire' like a general hazard instead of an enemy, and they're under the contraptions section. It also doesn't mention slot machines in any way. If you find a source for either name, please let me know. Pallukun (talk) 15:49, February 12, 2020 (EST)

::US Prima guide refers to them as Flimflams. Slot machine in said guide is only referred to as 'slot machine' (lowercase). I am working on obtaining a US manual for the game. Trig - 15:56, February 12, 2020 (EST)
:That is a consideration of mine once I get most of the stuff done here, or at least have other people doing this besides me. As of now, there is a lot here to manage before I do other wikis. Short answer: Maybe, but not now. Trig - 09:55, June 2, 2019 (EDT)
::::Ok, but when you make the page, just put "(also known as fire)" at the top with the ref of the english manual pg25 Pallukun (talk) 16:07, February 12, 2020 (EST)

You should check Special:WhatLinksHere (it's under "tools" on the left navigation pane) for the old file names rather than just the "File usage" header before marking them for deletion, as the latter doesn't show file page links like this. 21:59, June 3, 2019 (EDT)
Since I can currently only use discussion pages, I have a small request for you, and that is a small mistake on the Mario Kart Tour page with the high-end (spotlight) characters. Wario (Hiker) is listed on these characters, but is a regular high-end.

Why did you tag that Undergrunt image with the image-quality tag? It's in high res because of fpv, iirc, I spoke with the person who took it before they did to ensure it'd be good enough. ----
You were already notified about this. Stop marking images with image-quality unless there's a good reason (e.g. a watermark) or they're poor enough quality that they need to be reuploaded (i.e. not every single jpg that already shows what it needs to show in adequate quality). Some images were only available in jpg in the source they came from anyway. 02:46, June 20, 2019 (EDT)

Inactive users
:::The second week has now started and apparently Wario (Hiker) is one of the spotlight characters. Because if you want to take a tube with Wario (Hiker) and go into details, then Rosalina (Aurora) is listed as standard. Both seem to be standard only for the corresponding tubes, but that wasn't the case before, at least since I started playing the game. I only started in December.--TheKerberos01 (talk) 02:35, February 19, 2020 (EST)

Telling someone a file on their userpage has been moved is good, but an inactive user likely won't see the message. Just keep it to active users, and anyone can correct the files on their page themselves if they see it's broken. 15:41, June 24, 2019 (EDT)

Do you know any active users who create or can create image files called File .jpg? Lord Falafel (talk) 17:30, June 26, 2019 (EDT)
When colors differ between optimized and non-optimized images, it is, from my understanding, <s>usually</s> (often; it depends on how the image was exported, correct me if I'm wrong) the optimized result that contains the intended colors. The original images, when exported without unchecking certain options, sometimes contain gamma-correction metadata to determine the image's brightness; however, browsers often don't display this data properly as it is intended for editing. See Wildgoosespeeder's comment on my talk page, RAP's FAQ for previous discussions on the topic, and this article for more details. Compare the color of Luigi's clothing with the other images of Luigi from NSLU. While in some cases the gamma correction is needed, this particular image (:File:NSMBU Luigi Jumping Artwork.png) seems it could be accurate without it. Edit: After looking at more images, I understand that it is much more complicated than I originally thought (gamma makes some images accurate and others inaccurate), see my comment on MarioWiki:Proposals for more details. -- 23:26, February 15, 2020 (EST)

::I entirely agree that images typically look better without the gamma correction involved however both Steve and several other administerative staff have affirmed that we are not to optimize it just because it's more accurate to the actual display of the source. Trig - 08:12, February 16, 2020 (EST)
:You mean upload files as .jpg? Anyone can do that, when it is named as such and assuming the file is jpg. Trig - 17:32, June 26, 2019 (EDT)
:::Gotcha, that's understandable. I have found a way to optimize images without removing this particular iCCP metadata, therefore preserving colors. I tested it on :File:NSMBDS Goomba Artwork.png. -- 12:47, February 16, 2020 (EST)

::::::Interesting. I still think the template is important to use then, as someone might try to optimize further. Trig - 14:23, February 16, 2020 (EST)

Although I don't own any of the games you mentioned (or have much interest in the Mario sports games), I definitely plan to work on plenty of other ones when I'm done with SMG/2, but since those two games are such a massive project I'm trying to focus a lot on getting those ones as perfect as I can before I move on. Specifically, I plan to work on Yoshi's Woolly World, Super Mario 64, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, and probably many others. Also, my userpage has a list of games I own if you're curious what else I could work on. As for how I capture the images, I follow Wildgoosespeeder's amazing, though slightly outdated, guide. Specifically, I use the Dolphin emulator for Wii/GCN, the method described on my userpage for Wii U, and the built-in screenshot function for Switch.
Technically it is a render, it's just an official render, so we count it as artwork. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 16:52, February 18, 2020 (EST)

Thank you also for the amazing work you do! I imagine it must be boring and tedious, but necessary. Yeah I think that alphabetize template is an awesome idea! One suggestion I have would be to add a parameter for the user to specify a request for another sort order other than alphabetical (e.g., "It has been requested that this section be re-organized to be in release-date order.") as other sort orders are common and I have seen many character screenshot galleries that aren't sorted properly. BTW about the PNG template you may be interested in reading this past proposal by Wildgoosespeeder. I think I agree with your idea, and I suggest taking into consideration the wording on the proposal's corresponding PNG template, both in the template itself and the intended usage listed on that page. One suggestion I have that deviates from that past proposal is naming the template something like PNG Requested, or better yet Resample as PNG instead of Convert to PNG as in my opinion that would be a more accurate description of what's needed. Great idea though, as the image-quality category has become very crowded and I like the idea of splitting it between extremely horrible-quality, high-priority-to-replace images (image-quality) and sub-optimal, but not as horrible images (in this case non-png screenshots (your template)). -- 22:19, July 31, 2019 (EDT)

While it is true a while ago I mistakenly gave a user with a last warning another one, I shouldn't have done that retrospectively. Per the template: "The next time you break the rules in any way, you will be blocked from editing the Super Mario Wiki.". Thus, given that Count Luigi already was told not to do what you gave him another LW for before, including being told about that problem after his last warning, he should have been reported to be blocked. It is true that the warning policy page states "If you go to warn someone and find they have already been given a last warning for any issue, contact an admin, as that user most likely needs to be blocked for their latest misdemeanor. For certain circumstances, however, such as if the last warning was issued a long time ago, additional reminders/warnings per standard procedure may be considered instead of an immediate block.", however his original last warning was still somewhat recent and literally his entire history revolves around image-related problems, and thus giving another one was not needed. 21:44, February 21, 2020 (EST)

You made several mistakes when you archived recently-completed proposals. First, you passed a proposal with only three votes. Per the proposal page, "Any proposal that has three votes or less at deadline will automatically be listed as "NO QUORUM." The original proposer then has the option to relist said proposal to generate more discussion." Second, you marked a proposal which won as one which had no quorum. However, the proposal had more than three votes, and the rules that say that a proposal must be extended if no option wins by at least three votes, or that the winning option must win by the majority else it gets extended, only apply to proposals with both two options and more than ten votes, or proposals with more than two options, respectively. The proposal  doesn't meet the criteria for these rules, and thus it won. Third, you marked a proposal with no quorum when it should have continued. The proposal applied to the rule of needing a majority due to having more than two options, and it had more than three votes, thus it should have continued. Finally, when archiving proposals, you should use the Proposal outcome template on the proposal's talk page, or on the page they're archived on like here. 09:48, February 27, 2020 (EST)
::My apologies on that. I'll take responsibility on the Shy Guy, but I was not sure how to classify the won as no quorum because of the duplicate votes in place. :::I made a mistake with the regular Bowser Stature proposal. I mainly had it made to alert admins of accidental or repeated reuploads (which happens a lot), vandalism, and edit wars <s>(and so people would stop bugging Shokora about it)</s>. If it's just three or four revisions on an image, even if duplicate, it doesn't really need the revisions deleted. Not every image needs to be knocked down to two revisions just for the heck of it. I deleted some already before deciding the amount you had marked was incredibly excessive, but I'll continue going through them to see if anything actually needs removed. *What do you think of special characters (like & + ! .) in filenames? I personally try to include them (such as in Mario & Luigi or King K. Rool).
*How do you feel about filenames that are all bunched together like :File:ACloudyDay MinionQuest.png?
*Many Super Mario Maker filenames have arbitrary dashes (like :File:SMM-SMB-BuzzyBeetleShell.png), a plague that is also impacting Super Mario Maker 2. What do you think about these? Should they be moved to be just normal spaces? 23:49, July 15, 2019 (EDT)

Usually, however, I don't mess with parentheses or hyphens (unless there are many unneeded or inconsistent ones). Things like exclamation points, ampersands, and more than one period should DEFINITELY be removed when possible. The Mario and/& Luigi RPG files are definitely something to look at later down the road.

Quick question, when renaming international game icons, should we mention the fact that they are the international icon. Take :File:Mario Tennis Aces logo.png for example. Should it just be renamed File:MTA logo.png, or File:MTA international icon.png? Also, should language names be abbreviated? ::None of these above need renamed (unless there's an extension NCR). Like, zero of them need renamed. Furthermore, pretending as though you weren't trying to skirmish away from effort, there are several additional hindering factors, such as (not limited to): I avoid the mario boards like I would avoid toxic waste or mayonaise. I also don't think borp would be too thrilled about me jacking his stuff either based on our frequent disagreements, but you are more than welcome to save the image and I can walk through how to upload the image. Secondarily, unless I can rip it from an actual nintendo site, I really don't enjoy uploading images if I can't track the original source of the image, because point 3--I don't really upload new images. I only mess with things we already have. I would suggest you try talking with Results May Vary or Mario jc about finding new images to upload. Point four, I use Bing. Thought you'd want to know.

Coming off of the discussion that was in Discord, there may be confusion over the two symbols. A dash (-) is what's normally seen in file names, and I think is perfectly fine to have, as it's pretty easy to type on most keyboards, even mobile. A hyphen () is something that isn't seen on most keyboards, I had to use the special characters selection to make it appear, which isn't something that should be used in file names.

So while hyphens should be removed, I don't think dashes should be if the name is already clear enough. Like "File:Dorrie Screenshot - New Super Mario Bros.png" was perfectly fine. I know the image use policy specifically mentions "dashes", but I want to talk to Porple about that at some point... 12:24, August 14, 2019 (EDT)

The Actual Talk Page[edit]

New rules[edit]

For your information, Porplemontage recently made some changes to the image use policy, most importantly with this change. Doomhiker (talk)Artwork of a Topmini from Super Mario Galaxy 15:31, January 27, 2020 (EST)

I'm aware.

Smasher 'Shroom Portrait[edit]

Hi, just letting you know that you optimised the wrong size of Smasher's shroom portrait, which results in making this portrait smaller than all the other staff portraits. So, I had to revert it. LudwigVon Sig.png(TALK)

Interesting. Thank you for telling me. My apologies for the inconvenience. Trig - 15:41, February 2, 2020 (EST)

RE:Autograph[edit]

Try saying that for the three different keys in Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story. Plus, the Super Paper Mario orbs clearly have different sprites, names, and descriptions, so it would be hard to make a good argument without mentioning the Bowser's Inside Story keys as well. Toadette icon CTTT.pngFont of Archivist Toadette's signature(T|C) 23:09, February 9, 2020 (EST)

Putting these on multiple talk pages makes the conversation much more difficult.

File:NSMBWCW Logo.png[edit]

Where did you find a png version of this? Rosalina costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 00:45, February 12, 2020 (EST)

I re-saved it form the website, and it was a PNG. The used version on another part of the webpage, with concept arts and some big chart, is a GIF version. Mine is the one displayed that I believe takes you to the home menu. Trig - 08:12, February 12, 2020 (EST)
This website? I can't find a png of this logo anywhere (except this small one that links to the home page), only gifs on the home page and chart page. Rosalina costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 19:30, February 12, 2020 (EST)
Well that's weird. I feel like saved the chart page version directly from it and it saved as a PNG, checking my settings it has not changed from the default file type. Trig - 20:33, February 12, 2020 (EST)

Flimflam[edit]

Firstly, thanks for finding/creating that image for the slot machine page. Secondly, you said the flame creatures are called 'Flimflams' in the "game guide". If you meant instruction manual - it simply calls them 'fire' like a general hazard instead of an enemy, and they're under the contraptions section. It also doesn't mention slot machines in any way. If you find a source for either name, please let me know. Pallukun (talk) 15:49, February 12, 2020 (EST)

US Prima guide refers to them as Flimflams. Slot machine in said guide is only referred to as 'slot machine' (lowercase). I am working on obtaining a US manual for the game. Trig - 15:56, February 12, 2020 (EST)
Ok, but when you make the page, just put "(also known as fire)" at the top with the ref of the english manual pg25 Pallukun (talk) 16:07, February 12, 2020 (EST)
Sure thing. I will try my best to find a more concrete name source first, though. Trig - 16:10, February 12, 2020 (EST)

Mario Kart Tour[edit]

Since I can currently only use discussion pages, I have a small request for you, and that is a small mistake on the Mario Kart Tour page with the high-end (spotlight) characters. Wario (Hiker) is listed on these characters, but is a regular high-end.

Here is the proof, at minute 1:27: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WwFk8eyZiPo&t=333s --TheKerberos01 (talk) 16:10, February 14, 2020 (EST)

Wanted to let you know that Qyzxf has undone your edit on the Mario Kart Tour page.--TheKerberos01 (talk) 17:09, February 18, 2020 (EST)
So I realized. I'm not sure how to approach this, since I don't own or play the game. Perhaps discuss it with the user themself on their talk page. Trig - 17:25, February 18, 2020 (EST)
The second week has now started and apparently Wario (Hiker) is one of the spotlight characters.

Gamma[edit]

When colors differ between optimized and non-optimized images, it is, from my understanding, usually (often; it depends on how the image was exported, correct me if I'm wrong) the optimized result that contains the intended colors. The original images, when exported without unchecking certain options, sometimes contain gamma-correction metadata to determine the image's brightness; however, browsers often don't display this data properly as it is intended for editing. See Wildgoosespeeder (talk)'s comment on my talk page, RAP (talk)'s FAQ for previous discussions on the topic, and this article for more details. Compare the color of Luigi's clothing with the other images of Luigi from NSLU. While in some cases the gamma correction is needed, this particular image (File:NSMBU Luigi Jumping Artwork.png) seems it could be accurate without it. Edit: After looking at more images, I understand that it is much more complicated than I originally thought (gamma makes some images accurate and others inaccurate), see my comment on MarioWiki:Proposals for more details. --Super Mario Fan 67 (TCS) 23:26, February 15, 2020 (EST)

I entirely agree that images typically look better without the gamma correction involved however both Steve and several other administerative staff have affirmed that we are not to optimize it just because it's more accurate to the actual display of the source. Trig - 08:12, February 16, 2020 (EST)
Gotcha, that's understandable. I have found a way to optimize images without removing this particular iCCP metadata, therefore preserving colors. I tested it on File:NSMBDS Goomba Artwork.png. --Super Mario Fan 67 (TCS) 12:47, February 16, 2020 (EST)
Interesting. I still think the template is important to use then, as someone might try to optimize further. Trig - 14:23, February 16, 2020 (EST)
That makes sense. Is there a way we could modify the template/proposed policy to consider this? Something like:

This image contains gamma brightening, and should not be optimized without preserving iCCP metadata.

--Super Mario Fan 67 (TCS) 14:30, February 16, 2020 (EST)

I'm worried about doing that because gamma is already confusing enough to the average person. I think that instead, the original template should remain and the iCCP metadata could be described on a 'MarioWiki:Gamma Brightening' page that the template could link to itself. Trig - 14:45, February 16, 2020 (EST)

"Render"[edit]

Technically it is a render, it's just an official render, so we count it as artwork. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 16:52, February 18, 2020 (EST)

Double Last Warnings[edit]

Doomhiker (talk)Artwork of a Topmini from Super Mario Galaxy 21:44, February 21, 2020 (EST)

I'd hardly call almost three whole years "still somewhat recent" myself. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 21:55, February 21, 2020 (EST)
Both Glowsquid and myself discussed it and said it was on the fence on the period of time for renewal. Since their issues were the exact same thing, I think that the block (especially at it's length) is acceptable. I was more worried about not overreaching on how to approach the situation. Trig - 21:58, February 21, 2020 (EST)

Gamma correction template[edit]

Is it okay if this design is okay for the template that you asked to be created as per this proposal:

<div class="notice-template" style="display:flex;text-align:center;background:#debffb;margin:0.175em 2% 0.75em;padding:0 1em;border:2px solid black;color:black">
This image has gamma correction metadata, and thus should not be optimized.
</div><noinclude></noinclude><includeonly></includeonly>

Just wondering. Toadette icon CTTT.pngFont of Archivist Toadette's signature(T|C) 16:34, February 24, 2020 (EST)

This image has gamma correction metadata, and thus should not be optimized.

It's been changed somewhat because gamma correction is a smaller chunk of what it is. It's likely going to be more akin to:
<div class="notice-template" style="display:flex;text-align:center;background:#cb7eff;margin:0.175em 2% 0.75em;padding:0 1em;border:2px solid black;color:black">
This image contains color changing metadata and should not be optimized.
</div><noinclude></noinclude><includeonly></includeonly>

This image has color changing metadata and should not be optimized.

And have the template name Color-Correction, though I am still discussing it with Supermariofan67 and Mister Wu. I know you're excited to get proposals made but we still need to work out the creation of an actual page for what color correction--and possibly optimization--is. If you've any experience and would like to help you are more than welcome to, as a majority of it is on SMF67's sandbox.
Additionally (although somewhat petty and less important), don't add the line when creating a section. I add the line myself to indicate that I have read a message. Trig - 17:29, February 24, 2020 (EST)
I think I've now addressed your and Mister Wu's suggestions and added everything needed on that page. Could you check if I should change anything or add anything else? Otherwise, it's probably ready to go. --Super Mario Fan 67 (TCS) 17:55, February 24, 2020 (EST)
I left talk page messages for Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (he isn't very active anymore though) and Porplemontage (talk) and I'm waiting to hear back. I also talked to Mister Wu (talk) and applied his suggestions. If you know of any other users who might be knowledgeable in this topic, feel free to help by reaching out to them as well. --Super Mario Fan 67 (TCS) 16:56, February 25, 2020 (EST)
Thanks a lot! - Trig - 17:07, February 25, 2020 (EST)
Should we move forward on this now? Porplemontage (talk) said that everything looks okay, and Wildgoosespeeder (talk) might not respond for a while since he's not very active anymore. --Super Mario Fan 67 (TCS) 17:28, February 27, 2020 (EST)
I'll go ahead and take over from here. Thanks a lot for your help man, means a lot. Trig - 17:42, February 27, 2020 (EST)

Proposal clarification[edit]

Doomhiker (talk)Artwork of a Topmini from Super Mario Galaxy 09:48, February 27, 2020 (EST)

My apologies on that. I'll take responsibility on the Shy Guy, but I was not sure how to classify the won as no quorum because of the duplicate votes in place. Because I could not really determine what won per se (even with looking at the rules), I assumed it was no quorum. As for the third, I don't know what you man for the placement of that template. Trig - 09:57, February 27, 2020 (EST)
I made a mistake with the regular Bowser Stature proposal. I was counting the duplicate votes as well when it came to the majority wins rules, so the proposal won instead of continuing or being no quorum, so sorry about that. Though what I said about the Black Shy Guy and Gold Bowser Statue proposals still pertain. Anyways, for the template, you just need to place it under the Settled TPP template. Like this:

Header

Settled TPP

passed/failed/vetoed/canceled/no consensus/no quorum

(The rest of the proposal itself)

The Template:Proposal outcome gives more clear instructions (and is where I took the example for the template). I hope this makes it more clear. Doomhiker (talk)Artwork of a Topmini from Super Mario Galaxy 12:43, February 27, 2020 (EST)

Image help[edit]

Well, I'm screwed. I don't know how to see image files on an Intel Asus. It says something about tools in the tab bar, but I don't see it anywhere. So I need your help with uploading an image of Mario Party Fushigi no Korokoro Catcher 2 on the game's page. Even if I could upload images, so much stuff for those Capcom Mario games is in Japanese, which I can't read. I know the staff told me not to tell others to do stuff for me when I can do it myself, but I can't see image files on my laptop. So I need someone to help me. We also have lack of Donkey Kong Banana Kingdom by itself on the page. The only image we seem to have of the machine is the flyer, so I don't know if there's one somewhere in an image category: page or if we need to add an image of that game, too. Lord Falafel (talk) 11:06, March 2, 2020 (EST)

Where are images not displaying properly? Additionally, could you explain what browser and operating system you are using? I might be able to help you upload images from a source if you could link them, but I don't know where to look for Banana Kingdom. If you think a page should have more images, feel free to add more images to the top of the page (with the brackets). Trig - 11:11, March 2, 2020 (EST)

I did. I don't know what operating system I'm using, but the only search engine I use is Google and the only social media I'm on is YouTube. I've found stuff on Twitter, but I don't regularly go there. I don't know where to look for images of those games. Lord Falafel (talk) 18:22, March 2, 2020 (EST)

Do you have the actual image on your computer and just don't know how to upload it? I can help you with that. Trig - 18:33, March 2, 2020 (EST)

No, I don't. Lord Falafel (talk) 11:53, March 3, 2020 (EST)

So what exactly are you asking for? I'm somewhat confused. Trig - 12:22, March 3, 2020 (EST)

I'm asking for Google to help me out. Maybe you could help upload a few images of some arcade games and put them on their respective pages. Just a few. There's an image of Donkey Kong Banana Kingdom that we cover, but it's a flyer image. We can keep that, but we need an image of the machine by itself and luckily, I found it on Google. Unfortunately, the only descent image of Mario Party Fushigi no Korokoro Catcher 2 I could find on Google is a flyer, but we need that image too. The last image is for Super Mario World (arcade). It is an image of the inside of the machine and it should go in the gallery. It can be found in the Mario boards if you search arcade coverage. It will be the Fabtek post posted by borp. There's a link to it on the Super Mario Wiki page Super Mario World (arcade). Lord Falafel (talk) 13:49, March 4, 2020 (EST)

I'm just gonna pretend like you haven't been told what I'm about to say before now by the big JC but what you're doing is asking for me to do the work for you, which come across as more lazy than it does in need of actual help. If you actually have an image saved (which I think you do for the Banana Kingdom) or maybe, if in small quantity, sourced in a link I would be more than happy to show you how you can upload that image, but my job isn't to do the work for you.
I appreciate what you're trying to do in having full coverage, but it's not appropriate to try and get other people to cover that coverage for you. Nothing is stopping you from making that coverage besides your own lack of effort. Thank you for understanding. Trig - 19:44, March 4, 2020 (EST)

Did you read my top comment? And I don't have any images saved except for one unrelated image. Lord Falafel (talk) 00:29, March 5, 2020 (EST)

Well, I'm screwed. I don't know how to see image files on an Intel Asus.
I find that hard to believe.
So I need your help with uploading an image of Mario Party Fushigi no Korokoro Catcher 2 on the game's page. Even if I could upload images, so much stuff for those Capcom Mario games is in Japanese, which I can't read.
What makes you think that I can read Japanese? I can barely speak english half the time. Even then, you don't necessarily need to be able to read japanese in order to upload an image, it would just be harder to write a summary for. You furthermore do not explain where this image is hosted until later where you just say
Unfortunately, the only descent image of Mario Party Fushigi no Korokoro Catcher 2 I could find on Google is a flyer, but we need that image too.
Google has billions of images on it and almost none of them can actually be effectively sourced. It may be more beneficial to try and look at the game's website or special gaming websites that have official art (like IGN) on them.
I know the staff told me not to tell others to do stuff for me when I can do it myself, but I can't see image files on my laptop.
I'm no tech whiz but my senses are telling me that you're either lying or you turned off javascript or something.
We also have lack of Donkey Kong Banana Kingdom by itself on the page. The only image we seem to have of the machine is the flyer, so I don't know if there's one somewhere in an image category: page or if we need to add an image of that game, too.
The change here was confusing but alright. After looking at the page in question, there's not much else I can say that isn't already there. Personally, for such a small scale game, I think five pictures (promo 4 logo 1) is probably fine in all honesty.
So yeah, I read it. It's just difficult to make sense of it. Trig - 07:29, March 5, 2020 (EST)
