Mine Cart Cascade Crusade is the second level in the Bonus Episode of the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 3DS versions of Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker. It is unlocked after completing Secret of the Inverted Pyramid, and is based on the Cascade Kingdom from Super Mario Odyssey.

Layout[edit]

The starting area is a small platform in a cave, just above a waiting Mine Cart filled with turnips. Jumping in will push the Mine Cart forward, starting the level. Just above the start of the rail is a POW Block surrounded by Brick Blocks and two ? Blocks. Down the rail and around the corner is another similar arch, with two POW Blocks and no ? Blocks. Going past this arch will drop Captain Toad onto another rail high above the ocean that surrounds Fossil Falls. On the left and right are POW Blocks with two ? Blocks above and underneath, and four Para-Biddybuds surrounding each. Down the rail brings Captain Toad to another archway similar to the ones before, only with two POW Blocks and two ? Blocks. Continuing further down and through the Triceratops skeleton rib cage will bring Captain Toad to three Para-Biddybud trios. Past that and through a hole in a nearby wall takes Captain Toad to a place with lots of POW Blocks surrounded by Brick Blocks in the wall on the left, and a POW Block with four ? Blocks and six circling Para-Biddybuds on the immediate right. Hitting the POW Blocks will reveal coins in the first two holes, and a Super Gem in the last. Heading onward down the track, four more Para-Biddybuds are seen circling a five-box stack of ? Blocks on the left. Down and on the right of the rail, a POW Block can be seen on top of two Brick Blocks, side by side. Hitting the first POW Block will set off a chain reaction, causing eight more mini structures like it to go off, the last of which causes a tower to fall forward, where a Super Gem can be shot at. Down another drop and through a hole in the wall will take Captain Toad down a steep drop, and at the bottom, the Mine Cart will eject him, allowing access to the Power Moon.

Super Gems[edit]

Three Super Gems can be found throughout the level.

  • Super Gem 1: Inside the nose of the Triceratops skull.
  • Super Gem 2: Behind a POW Block while passing the Triceratops skeleton.
  • Super Gem 3: On top of the bridge that falls down near the end of the Mine Cart ride.
