Pedal Power is a 1-Player minigame in Mario Party.

This minigame, Tug o' War, Paddle Battle, and, to some extent, Cast Aways and Deep Sea Divers were infamous for causing many hand injuries among players, leading Nintendo to provide gloves in a legal settlement. For the Nintendo 64 - Nintendo Switch Online re-release of Mario Party, a warning appears upon the game being started, advising players not to use their palms to rotate the stick.

Introduction[edit]

The camera shows the player in the dark on a pedaling gizmo, while a Boo is far off to the right side of the screen.

Gameplay[edit]

The Boo slowly chases the player as the player sits on the bike. The player simply needs to generate power for a light by rotating. The player has about 20 seconds to generate enough power before the Boo catches them. If the player wins, they win ten Coins. If they lose, they lose five Coins.

The minigame can be purchased from the Mini-Game House for 150 Coins when it is available.

Ending[edit]

If the player wins, they generate enough power to make the Boo disappear, and the player does a winning pose while still pedaling. However, if the player does not generate enough power, they lose and get caught by the Boo as the light goes out.

Controls[edit]
