Painguin Tucks are enemies appearing in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze and its Nintendo Switch port. Their name is a portmanteau of "pain" and "penguin." They are penguin-like members of the Snowmads who wear green trousers and brown belts with the Snowmad insignia, and they each carry a dead fish on a stick for their weapon. They have a bulkier counterpart known as Papa Painguins.
A Painguin Tucks walks at a slow pace until it sees the Kongs, at which point it charges toward them. The enemy holds the pointy side of its weapon forward, preventing frontal Roll Attacks and damaging the Kongs upon contact. The Kongs can also take damage if they walk normally into the enemy from behind. However, Painguin Tucks can be defeated with a jump or a Roll Attack into their bare backs. These enemies can also be stunned with a Ground Pound if the Kongs are close enough.
Two Painguin Tucks also appear on the Game Over screen, guarding the ice cube the Kongs are frozen inside.
