If I remember correctly, Charles Martinet's stock laugh that was used for Bowser and Boo in Super Mario 64 was also used for Dry Bones in a handful of games such as Mario Super Sluggers and Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games. It's slightly edited in those games, however, so that's probably why it's hard to tell. He's also not credited for voicing Dry Bones in those games, so that's another reason. --MarioKartDoubleDash (talk) 09:48, August 29, 2023 (EDT)

== Blueberrymuffin's rips ==
Blueberrymuffin is one of the best sprite rippers on the site, so when they upload a sprite, it is as accurate as it can be. Also, generally, we have "icon" type images at their native uncropped dimensions, so they display the same when put next to each other. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 21:15, October 27, 2024 (EDT)
:Knowing that there are general standards in place, unofficial they may be, should be enough to dissuade you from that. Also, uniformity generally looks better than inconsistent resizings brought about by gallery boxes, inconsistent pixel sizes on altered-size sprites look genuinely awful. Particularly when it causes one row of pixels to arbitrarily be rectangular rather than square. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 22:07, October 27, 2024 (EDT)
:Again, please do not crop select/placement/etc. icons. Crop models or artwork to your heart's content, but icon sprites are uploaded with the consistent-with-each-other parameters they are stored with for a reason that is functional for the wiki's purposes, and inconsistent-sized croppings ruin that. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 02:14, October 28, 2024 (EDT)
If you really think they should be cropped, you should provide an actual reason rather than wordlessly reverting things that have been given in-depth explanations as to why they are a certain way. And no, "I like them better this way" is not a reason. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 14:20, October 28, 2024 (EDT)
:Well that's unfortunate, but in that case you shouldn't have batch uploaded - it came off as incredibly dismissive and made it seem like you just didn't care about conflicting opinions. Regardless, what you're doing is the "tampering," since they were extracted by BBM exactly as they were in the files. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 17:00, October 28, 2024 (EDT)
:Anyways, if you ever need to do something like that again, I'd suggest doing the first one with the summary, and then doing the rest as a batch. Or at least reaching out to the user. Because... yeah, it really felt like you were deliberately dissing. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 19:10, October 28, 2024 (EDT)
::Some of the MKAGPDX item icons were used in a table on the game's page where they were resized in a consistent manner, so cropping them screwed that up (and they were deliberately uploaded with full parameters as someone else's ripping project). I've reverted the nine or so that were used in the table so the dimensions are no longer screwed up on it. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 11:52, November 9, 2024 (EST)
:::Awright. In general, though, I'd kinda like to avoid preventing them from being used in a table with the dimensions thing, unless their native dimensions are ridiculous like those Tour maps and full-body images. Stickers[edit]
To avoid edit warring, what is exactly your point in preferring the artworks to the stickers sprites? for subjects with an article on the wiki, I keep the artwork, while doing the sticker in the list and in the sticker table of the subject.. Otherwise, the artwork get deleted, and the sticker is placed in the table. I choose this way so we don't have to keep any artwork for non-Mario subjects (I mean subjects that hasn't appeared in any game on the wiki - including crossovers - ) and for the sake of originality to the game... Showing the stickers' border, keeping the size as-it.--
13:43, 30 April 2014 (EDT)
- Um three thousand, you can find every sticker. The Super Mario Bros. sticker in question is located in Sticker Part 2, near the bottom. So, yeah. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 16:15, 4 May 2014 (EDT)
- What do you mean by exact? You mean the parameters of the sticker? That's not really necessary but if you want accurate empty space amount then, *shrug* go for it. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 16:22, 4 May 2014 (EDT)
So you are good with keeping stickers instead of artworks?--

I'm surprised someone picked up on this as well. -Same guy who posted an apology for all that time ago, --107.77.226.220 09:26, January 5, 2021 (EST)

10 years ago[edit]
Hey there...
Just wanted to apologise for some dumb edits I made 10 years ago. I'm not sure if you'll read this, but I figured I'd leave a message anyways. I wrote a longer message here you may want to read: https://www.mariowiki.com/User_talk:Solo_toady#10_years
Kind regards. --Solo (talk) 07:39, July 7, 2021 (EDT)
kirby[edit]
iirc i had discussion with you about Kirby wikis in the Super Mario Wiki discord server a few years ago. WiKirby has become very successful & now has over 3,000 articles. I've grown to like Kirby Wiki as well. Results May Vary (talk) 23:54, January 2, 2022 (EST)
Header capitalisation[edit]
Hey, just letting you know, words that aren't proper nouns or the first word in headers should be lowercase, so "Nintendo eShop Description" should just be "Nintendo eShop description". Mario JC 04:00, September 29, 2022 (EDT)
Sprites.[edit]
Hi. Are you still active (both for making sprites & on the wiki in general)? I asked Gumball of the Stars if he could make my sprites, but I didn't hear back. Then I saw that you made his sprites. Is it okay if you make my sprites? Details are in Gumball of the Stars' talk page. SONIC123CDMANIA+&K(B&ATSA) (talk) 12:57, May 10, 2023 (CST)
Charles Martinet as Dry Bones[edit]
If I remember correctly, Charles Martinet's stock laugh that was used for Bowser and Boo in Super Mario 64 was also used for Dry Bones in a handful of games such as Mario Super Sluggers and Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games. It's slightly edited in those games, however, so that's probably why it's hard to tell. He's also not credited for voicing Dry Bones in those games, so that's another reason. --MarioKartDoubleDash (talk) 09:48, August 29, 2023 (EDT)

Blueberrymuffin's rips[edit]
Blueberrymuffin is one of the best sprite rippers on the site, so when they upload a sprite, it is as accurate as it can be. Also, generally, we have "icon" type images at their native uncropped dimensions, so they display the same when put next to each other. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 21:15, October 27, 2024 (EDT)
- Knowing that there are general standards in place, unofficial they may be, should be enough to dissuade you from that.
- Again, please do not crop select/placement/etc.
- Well that's unfortunate, but in that case you shouldn't have batch uploaded - it came off as incredibly dismissive and made it seem like you just didn't care about conflicting opinions. Regardless, what you're doing is the "tampering," since they were extracted by BBM exactly as they were in the files. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 17:00, October 28, 2024 (EDT)
- Anyways, if you ever need to do something like that again, I'd suggest doing the first one with the summary, and then doing the rest as a batch. Or at least reaching out to the user. Because... yeah, it really felt like you were deliberately dissing. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 19:10, October 28, 2024 (EDT)
- Some of the MKAGPDX item icons were used in a table on the game's page where they were resized in a consistent manner, so cropping them screwed that up (and they were deliberately uploaded with full parameters as someone else's ripping project). I've reverted the nine or so that were used in the table so the dimensions are no longer screwed up on it. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 11:52, November 9, 2024 (EST)
- Awright. In general, though, I'd kinda like to avoid preventing them from being used in a table with the dimensions thing, unless their native dimensions are ridiculous like those Tour maps and full-body images. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 22:24, November 9, 2024 (EST)

Artwork game-by-game comparison[edit]
Nice job on that, by the way. Do you have any thoughts on this? Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 19:28, October 28, 2024 (EDT)
