After successfully exiting the [[Astral Hall]], Luigi found himself in the Observatory. He noticed an antique looking telescope in the room, and decided to look through it. Through the view, Luigi could see the Moon. After he had finished looking at the telescope, the walls in the room mysteriously faded away, allowing Luigi to step out on a small balcony. Small yellow [[Meteor Ghost]]s were falling outside, and Luigi decided to suck one up and shoot it at [[the Moon]]. The Moon subsequently exploded and a winding, ephemeral bridge appeared, allowing Luigi to step out into space and retrieve [[Mario's Star]], the third item he would need to take to [[Madame Clairvoya]].

The telescope is the only real object in the Observatory, apart from a small dresser with a globe on top near the door. After the observatory walls vanished, Luigi noticed that the telescope that he prevously looked through turned into a pile of crumbled wall, and no longer to see "space" when the room is already cleared.

The Observatory in Luigi's Mansion
Area Area Three

The Observatory is a room in Area Three of the mansion in Luigi's Mansion and its remake. It can be entered from the Astral Hall once the lights turn on. The telescope is the featured object within the Observatory, besides a small dresser with a globe on top near the door. When Luigi looks through the telescope and sees the moon, the walls fade away, allowing Luigi to enter a small balcony. Luigi sucks up a Shining Ghost and shoots it at the moon, blowing it up in the process. After that, a winding path of light appears, which leads to a halved moon where Mario's Star is located. When Luigi enters this area, his icon on the Game Boy Horror's map will move beyond the mansion's walls, eventually becoming only visible when the map is turned.
