When the player first examines this, a short clip will play, with suspenseful music as the camera gets closer and closer to the mansion, only for a Golden Goob to pop out of it. In Mini Mario & Friends: amiibo Challenge, the Gloomy Manor, as well as its surroundings, forms the setting of Mini Luigi's stages, contained in a world called Moonlight Mansion. The dilapidated fish fountain at the left of the front yard, along with the polygonal alley, sharp bar fences, and light poles with rough spiraled designs, retrieves its decorative roles around the Gloomy Manor.

In Super Mario Run, the Gloomy Manor is used as the background for the missions screen during the Luigi's Mansion 2 HD event.
