Construction workers attempt to get from the building on the left to the shed on the right while avoiding falling tools. However, the workers can enter the shed only when its door is open. Helmet is a Game & Watch game released as part of the Gold series on February 21, 1981. It appears in the Gallery Corner in Game & Watch Gallery. It was later remade for Game & Watch Gallery 2, in which it can be played in either Classic Mode or Modern Mode. Two microgames in the WarioWare series are also based on Helmet: WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$!'s Helmet and WarioWare: D.I.Y. Showcase's GAME & WARIO.

Construction workers attempt to get from the building on the left to the shed on the right while avoiding falling tools. However, the workers can enter the shed only when its door is open. A worker cannot return to the building on the left after he exits it. The player receives a point for every three tools that hit the ground without hitting a worker. When a worker safely enters the shed, the player earns five points. As the game progresses, the tools start to fall at a faster speed, making it harder for the workers to escape harm. Getting hit by a tool results in a miss. At 200 and 500 points, any misses the player has are removed. When the player gets three misses, they receive a Game Over. In Game B, the tools fall faster and the door to the shed stays closed longer.

There is also a P Switch that makes coins appear. The coins can be collected for extra points and an increased entrance bonus, but collecting too many coins makes the player's character move more slowly. In addition, if the player collects 50 coins without getting a miss, a Super Star will appear at or above the right door's entrance, rewarding the player with at least 25 points if they get it.

The Modern mode of Helmet also features three different areas (Toad invites the player to a different area after 500 and 1,000 points). The first area is a grassy plain that features a Para Troopa tossing hammers, Spiked Balls, and Podoboos at the player. The next area is a meadow that features a Fly Guy dropping Spiked Balls. Cannons constantly appear to make any Spiked Balls that fall into them drop faster or get fired off in 45-degree angles. The last area is a castle of sorts with three Podoboos bouncing up and down and two Thwomps. The Thwomps will eventually fly up towards the ceiling (which has spikes hanging from it) if the player is standing on either one for a few seconds.
