They take her back to Princess Peach's Castle in the future, where the adult Bowser arrives to kidnap her, unknowingly saving the present Peach's Castle from domination by the Shroobs. Princess Shroob then crawls into view, shouting that it is her sister's turn to defeat them now before her eyes go dim and she  explodes in a burst of sparks; the Cobalt Star then begins darting around the room before turning Baby Bowser into a Shroob Mushroom, and Princess Peach reveals the truth about the Star just before Elder Princess Shroob regains her true form.

Battle
Princess Shroob starts the fight in her levitating throne, which will cause non-aerial attacks to miss. Her throne generates a forcefield that completely nullifies all damage, but can be slowly weakened with enough attacks, starting off blue before changing to green, yellow, and then red before shattering. The force field's durability is based off of the number of individual strikes rather than actual damage dealt, so multi-hitting attacks such as Copy Flowers and Trampolines are effective.

While in the forcefield, Princess Shroob has two attacks. The first is to shoot lasers at both of the Bros. at the same time. Depending on whether the laser gun is pointing up or down, Mario and Luigi must either jump or remain in place to avoid the lasers, which she shoots multiple times in one turn.
Princess Shroob can also attack using mechanical limbs sprouting from the underside of her throne. She will jump right above one of the Bros. and proceed to shoot multiple laser rings straight downward that enclose on the Bro targeted. The Bro must jump over each ring as it encloses, and the lasers could cause the Trip status effect. After the laser rings, Princess Shroob uses the throne to try and crush the Bro directly, which can be countered with the hammer as the throne comes down. If Princess Shroob cackles before landing on the Bro, she will stall for a bit before landing on them, which can throw off the player's counter.

Once the Mario Bros. disable her forcefield, her throne crashes to the floor and Princess Shroob is forced to attack on foot, making her vulnerable to ground attacks again. During this phase, she uses two different attacks. One is summoning a star projectile that encircles the arena, which the Bros. must jump over. Princess Shroob will telegraph with her hand who the star will target next, and the star will travel faster and faster around the arena until a Bro is hit, or if they can successfully jump on the star to destroy it. This attack can cause random stat decreases, such as POW-Down, DEF-Down and SPD-Down. Princess Shroob can also teleport randomly around the room, firing various energy balls at the Bros:

* If she spawns in front of a Bro, she will fire a single energy ball at that Bro which must be jumped over.
* If she spawns in the center of the arena, she will launch a wave of energy balls which both Bros. must jump over.
* If she spawns on the top screen, she will launch an energy ball straight down, which can be countered with the hammer; If she throws with her right hand, it will target Mario, the left hand will target Luigi.

All of her energy ball attacks can inflict Poison if they hit, and can be safely stomped on. After 2 turns, the throne will repair itself and the forcefield will be reactivated. Once Princess Shroob has lost half of her health, she begins to glow red, indicating increases in both her speed and power. She will also begin to attack multiple times in one turn.

Princess Shroob appears in the Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time adaptions in the Super Mario-kun manga, serving the same role as she does in the game.
Princess Shroob had invaded the Mushroom Kingdom along with her sister Elder Princess Shroob because Planet Shroob was withering. After the Shroobs manage to get inside Princess Peach's Castle, they find Princess Peach, who had traveled back in time with E. Gadd's Time Machine. They attempt to capture her, but before they can, Princess Peach uses the Cobalt Star to imprison Elder Princess Shroob and scatters the shards of the Cobalt Star. The younger Princess Shroob manages to capture Peach.

In Baby Bowser's Koopa Cruiser, Princess Shroob is seen in a transmission, however she remains hidden in the shadows. From Shroob Castle, she fires a missile, aiming for the Koopa Cruiser. Since the Koopa Cruiser was low on ammo, the missile hits the airship and it crashes in Baby Bowser's Castle.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Princess Shroob appears as an Advanced-level, neutral spirit in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The battle to unlock the Princess Shroob spirit is a stamina battle against Princess Peach. After taking a high amount of damage, Peach becomes giant and her attack power increases, which is possibly to act as a reference to her older twin.
left

Later on, in the Koopaseum, Princess Shroob appears on stage to celebrate the conquest of the Mushroom Kingdom by feeding Princess Peach to Petey Piranha. However, Mario, Luigi, Baby Mario, and Baby Luigi interupt her by getting onstage. Princess Shroob then orders the Shrooboid Brat to defeat them. Mario and company eventually defeat the Shrooboid Brat, but after the fight, Princess Shroob breaks a hole under the heroes, and they fall to the underground. ==General information==

Physical appearance
Compared to other Shroobs, Princess Shroob has a tall, human-like build, though keeping their general face features and two-fingered hands. Her mushroom cap has another, smaller one on top, looking like a bun hairstyle; the spot in the middle has the shape of a crown and a round black jewel on it. She also has large white lips and often carries a metal chalice with two horn-like protuberances at the base and round red gems around it. She wears a magenta dress similar to Peach's, with slightly darker panniers and a large high collar; the hem and the sleeves have a lighter swirl pattern, while on her chest is an oval shaped brooch with a black gem and a silver ring around it. She also wears small, round green earrings and long white gloves. She is also frequently seen holding a blue and yellow microphone with a visibly broken cable.

After falling underground, Mario and company set out to rescue Peach in Gritzy Caves. When they reach her, she has a Shroob Mushroom attached to her face. They take her back to Princess Peach's Castle in the future. This princess was actually Princess Shroob, and fools everyone, even Bowser, who kidnaps her believing she is Princess Peach. Bowser brings her to Thwomp Volcano, and after he is defeated by Mario and company, the Shroob Mothership arrives and captures the princess. Mario, Luigi, and their younger selves follow, still believing she is Princess Peach. Once they finally reach "Princess Peach", Princess Shroob reveals herself. She is about to get rid of them, but is blasted away by a disguised Kylie Koopa. This victory is short lived when she recovers and then drops Mario and his friends off of the Shroob Mothership.
Powers and abilities
As the commander of the Shroobs and one of the final bosses of Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, Princess Shroob is powerful and she often uses the Shroob army to her needs. By herself, she demonstrates various energy abilities, such as throwing energy balls, flying, and controling stars in her boss battle. Princess Shroob also shows technological skills via the use of her throne. In addition, she can disguise herself as Princess Peach to fool the characters, despite the disguise having a Shroob mushroom on her face.

Personality
|image=
As the primary antagonist of Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, Princess Shroob is a militant conqueror and is shown to be highly aggressive (e.g. shooting down the Koopa Cruiser), though most of her dialogue is undecipherable. In addition, the Shroob race acts as her loyal subordinates, serving her drinks and always following her commands. She is determined to go to any extent to conquer the Mushroom Kingdom, including attacking the Toad race, destroying their homes, and draining the life force of its citizens, known as vim. Furthermore, she takes sadistic enjoyment in the suffering of her enemies, as demonstrated by her act of feeding Princess Peach to Petey Piranha before an audience of Shroobs.

The four Mario bros. eventually make their way through a shroobified Peach's Castle and hijack a Shroob Battleship and engage the Shroob Princess in a dogfight with the Shroob Mothership. After blasting the Shroob Mothership out of the sky the Princess emerges from the wreckage. She appears to have gone mad, declaring Peach useless, the kingdom hers, and that she will destroy them all, shouting "Destroy!" several times. She then enters battle with them.

Entering the battle she is protected by a levitating force shield that can only be destroyed by jumps. In it she either fires lasers where it is NOT a good idea to for both to jump at the same time unless both pointers are pointed to the ground. The player needs to see which lasers are pointed up or down to avoid. The second attack is to turn her forcefield into a giant spider mech and then jumps onto one of the bros, with the force shield looming overhead. She then shoots lasers onto the brothers that travel straight down and then enclose on the bro., though this can be countered by jumping. Failing to avoid this attack will cause a small amount of damage and is capable of knocking the target off-balance. Then she attempts to sit on the brother. She will shake the mech three times and then either laugh or go straight down. If she laughs, then the mech will delay before crushing the target. This can be countered by Hammer. This attack can cause Confusion.
It is unclear whether or not Princess Shroob cares for her older sister; she did not attempt to rebuild the Cobalt Star the Elder Princess Shroob was trapped in, and referred to the Mushroom Kingdom as belonging to her rather than her sister.

After she is out of the mech or rather forced out, she has a couple more attacks. She always teleports madly before using an attack. One attack is to shoot one fast laser ball at a brother. The brothers have to jump. Another is standing in the middle then shooting multiple balls requiring a jump after the other. If she swings her right arm towards Luigi, Mario has to jump then Luigi or the babies, and if she swings her left arm towards Mario, Luigi has to jump, then Mario. Another is to stand above the brothers and throw an energy ball down. If she shoots with her right arm, it is to Luigi, and if she shoots with her left, it is to Mario. It can be countered with the hammer. All of these energy balls can cause Poison. Finally, the last attack is to throw an energy Star that goes around faster and faster and won't stop until it either hits, which can cause random stat decrease, or is stepped on. It eventually goes slower after a while and may go faster again. If she is pointing straight forward, it's to Mario and if pointing down, it's to Luigi.

Princess Shroob, Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time

Princess Shroob is the main antagonist of Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time. She is second-in-command of the alien race known as the Shroobs (her older twin sister is the leader), although initially it appears that she is their leader, since the elder Princess Shroob was absent, trapped in the Cobalt Star by Princess Peach. She and her sister set off a full invasion of the Mushroom Kingdom to make it their own.

History[edit]

Mario & Luigi series[edit]

Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time[edit]

Princess Shroob and some Shroobs
Princess Shroob with five Shroobs

Princess Shroob invades the Mushroom Kingdom in the past along with her sister, the Elder Princess Shroob, as their home world was withering. After the Shroobs take hold of Peach's Castle, they find the adult Princess Peach, who had just used Prof. E. Gadd's time machine to visit the past castle. The Elder Princess Shroob attempts to capture her, but Peach uses the Cobalt Star that powered the time machine to imprison the Elder Princess Shroob before it shatters, scattering the shards across the Mushroom Kingdom. The younger Princess Shroob then ambushes and captures Peach. She sends a Junior Shrooboid into the future using the last of the time machine's power back to the future, where its appearance prompts the adult Mario and Luigi to investigate the past via timeholes.

As the assembled baby and adult Mario Bros. ride aboard Baby Bowser's Koopa Cruiser, Princess Shroob is seen in a transmission, largely obscured by shadows. From the newly converted Shroob Castle, she fires a Shroob missile at the Koopa Cruiser, which was too low on ammo to shoot it down; the missile strikes the Cruiser and leads to a crash landing in Baby Bowser's Castle.

Later on, when the Mario Bros. enter the Koopaseum, Princess Shroob appears on stage, in the process feeding Princess Peach to Petey Piranha. Princess Shroob then sends the Shrooboid Brat to fight the Bros. while she retreats; the quartet defeats the Shrooboid Brat, only for Princess Shroob to have a hole broken under them, where they fall into Gritzy Caves.

Princess Shroob on her throne

After encountering and defeating Petey Piranha, the Mario Bros. find Peach, who has a Shroob mushroom attached to her face - unbeknownst to them, she is actually Princess Shroob in disguise. They take her back to Princess Peach's Castle in the future, where the adult Bowser arrives to kidnap her, unknowingly saving the present Peach's Castle from domination by the Shroobs. Bowser brings her to Thwomp Volcano, where he is later fought and defeated by the Mario Bros.; the Shroob Mother Ship arrives and captures the disguised Princess Peach, with the Mario Bros. in pursuit, and Princess Shroob finally reveals herself once they find her. As she and the Shroobs are poised to defeat them, she is suddenly blasted away by a disguised Kylie Koopa, who is eventually left on Yoshi's Island, while the Bros. are dropped into Toad Town.

After the Mario Bros. assemble the rest of the scattered shards of the Cobalt Star, they eventually go through a Shroobified Peach's Castle. At the top of the highest tower, they hijack a Shroob Battleship and engage Princess Shroob aboard the Shroob Mother Ship, eventually downing it. Princess Shroob starts the fight in her levitating throne, which will cause non-aerial attacks to miss.

 • If she spawns in front of a Bro, she will fire a single energy ball at that Bro which must be jumped over.
 • If she spawns in the center of the arena, she will launch a wave of energy balls which both Bros. must jump over.
 • If she spawns on the top screen, she will launch an energy ball straight down, which can be countered with the hammer; If she throws with her right hand, it will target Mario, the left hand will target Luigi.

Princess Shroob makes a cameo appearance next to the Elder Princess Shroob during the optional boss fight of the Shroobs in Bowser's Castle, unlike in the original game, only the Elder Princess Shroob is barely seen.[1] Princess Shroob is also mentioned in the Shroobs' profile from the Bowser Jr.'s Journey mode.

Princess Shroob appears in the Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time adaptions in the Super Mario-kun manga, serving the same role as she does in the game.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[edit]

General information[edit]

Physical appearance[edit]

Powers and abilities[edit]

As the commander of the Shroobs and one of the final bosses of Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, Princess Shroob is powerful and she often uses the Shroob army to her needs. By herself, she demonstrates various energy abilities, such as throwing energy balls, flying, and controling stars in her boss battle. Princess Shroob also shows technological skills via the use of her throne. In addition, she can disguise herself as Princess Peach to fool the characters, despite the disguise having a Shroob mushroom on her face.

Personality[edit]

It is unclear whether or not Princess Shroob cares for her older sister; she did not attempt to rebuild the Cobalt Star the Elder Princess Shroob was trapped in, and referred to the Mushroom Kingdom as belonging to her rather than her sister.
