Battle Crowns,[1][2] also known as Battle Arena Crowns[3] or Crowns,[4] are items in Donkey Kong 64. These crowns resemble that of King K. Rool's. There are ten Battle Crowns in total, one in each level and two in DK Isles. The Kongs can obtain a Battle Crown by completing a timed Battle Arena Pad challenge, after avoiding several enemies and being knocked out of the arena until the time expires. At least one Battle Crown is needed to unlock multiplayer mode. Four Battle Crowns are required to open a door in Hideout Helm, allowing the Kongs to go down a pathway leading directly into K. Rool's throne room. The other six Battle Crowns only contribute to the 101% completion rating.
