The Yellow Switch Palace is a level in Super Mario World that contains a giant yellow ! Switch. It is the first Switch Palace that Mario and Luigi find, as the place is not hidden. It is on top of Kappa Mountain in the northwest of Yoshi's Island, and it is accessed by completing Yoshi's Island 1, thus making it the only Switch Palace that the player does not need to find a secret exit to access. Once the yellow ! Switch is activated, all the yellow Dotted-Line Blocks turn into yellow ! Blocks. During gameplay, a Super Mushroom appears when a yellow ! Block is hit. The Yellow Switch Palace is the first Switch Palace in Super Mario World. It is atop Kappa Mountain in the northwest of Yoshi's Island, and it can be unlocked by completing Yoshi's Island 1, being the only Switch Palace that does not require a secret exit to reveal. It is the only Switch Palace without enemies or power-ups.

Layout

The palace consists of two rooms, which the player has 200 seconds on the timer to complete. The first room of the palace is a large open area with a single Switch Block that can be optionally activated to add 470 coins to the area while giving the player 11.5~12.0 seconds to collect as many of them as possible. The second room, accessed from a Warp Pipe, has only the Yellow Switch, which ends the level upon being activated, also causing every yellow Dotted-Line Block to become a Yellow Block in 21 levels:

The Yellow Switch Palace cannot be replayed after being completed, though an exploit in Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2 makes it possible to replay.
