Ground is the first sample course in Super Mario Maker, unlocked as the player receives new course sets. It is set in the New Super Mario Bros. U style, and is in the ground theme.

Layout[edit]

The player starts off with a set of Coins, ? Blocks, one containing a Super Mushroom, and Brick Blocks. After three Goombas, there is a Warp Pipe and a Trampoline that can be used to reach a high-up platform. On this platform is a gap that can only be crossed via a Lift. Also, there is a ? Block containing a 1-Up Mushroom in between. Afterward, there is a Lakitu, some Spinies, and a formation of Warp Pipes. Lots of Coins follow, with another group of Brick Blocks and ? Blocks high above the ground, one containing a Fire Flower. The player can either use Lakitu's Cloud or a trampoline to reach these. Finally, there is a set of steps and the Goal Pole.
