Fritz[1] are enemies in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze and its Nintendo Switch port. They are encountered in the levels of Sea Breeze Cove, beginning with Deep Keep. Fritzes resemble moray eels and are generally found in spacious areas. Fritz regularly teleport themselves between places through self-generated whirlpools. Before teleporting, they grab their tail into their mouths and start swirling rapidly, producing a load of electricity. The electricity is then discharged in the form of plasma balls, which are spread radially around the enemy and disappear after reaching a certain distance. If the Kongs come into contact with a Fritz or its plasma balls, they lose one heart from their health meter. The Kongs can defeat a Fritz with a Corkscrew attack (while it is not charged with electricity) or with Cranky Kong's cane swipe.
