The title of this article is official, but it comes from a non-English source. If an acceptable English name is found, then the article should be moved to the new title.

Search Gashigashi[1] are red-bodied Gnawshers that home-in on targets. They fly around idly until they are close to something that they can consume, be it the player character (which would only be damaged instead of immediately devoured), other enemies (except other Gnawshers), or coins, chasing after their chosen prey and switching targets depending on what is closest to them. Like black Gnawshers, Search Gashigashi can be defeated by any form of attack.
Search Gashigashi are introduced alongside normal Gnawshers in Gnawsher Lair. There is a hidden sub-area in this course with Goombrats walking back and forth along tall platforms and Search Gashigashi indefinitely emerging from a downward-pointing pipe. Luring the Search Gashigashi to five of Goombrats causes a 10-flower coin to appear in the sub-area. Eleven Search Gashigashi subsequently occur in the second section of KO Arena Magma Flare-Up, where they can be distracted by coins in bubbles generated by pipes in the ceiling.
