Wild Glide Galaxy is a galaxy found in World 2 of Super Mario Galaxy 2. The galaxy features a jungle with a river. This galaxy is one of two galaxies involving Fluzzard gliding. With Fluzzard, the player can burst balloons with Star Bits and bubbles with coins. There are no enemies in this galaxy. This is also the only non-boss galaxy in World 2 to not have a hidden Power Star.
Planets/Areas[edit]
Wild Glide Planet[edit]
Starting Planet[edit]
The title of this section is conjectural; an official name for the section's subject has not been found, so it has been given a fitting title by the editors. If an official name is found, then the section should be changed to its appropriate title.
This is a small platform high above the Race Area. Several Jibberjays and Fluzzard are found here before the race begins.
Race Area[edit]
The title of this section is conjectural; an official name for the section's subject has not been found, so it has been given a fitting title by the editors. If an official name is found, then the section should be changed to its appropriate title.
This Planet is covered in a tropical forest. The missions in this galaxy start with Mario landing on an area with the Jibberjays and Fluzzard. When the race begins, Mario will be gliding on Fluzzard though out the course of the forest. This race has a river and a waterfall, balloons which Mario can pop to get star bits, and bubbles contain coins. Near the end is the Comet Medal which Mario can fly right through to pick up after passing through five gates that look like comets found throughout the planet. Once Mario passes the finish line, he will be transported back to the starting area.
Missions[edit]
Mission | Image | Summary
|
---|---|---|
Fluzzard's First Flight | This mission's objective is to cross the sun gate with Fluzzard. | |
Jungle Fluzzard Race | This mission's objective is to beat Jibberjay in a race. |
Green Stars[edit]
Green Star 1[edit]
The player should redo the Fluzzard's First Flight mission. There is a wall with two holes, one with a 1-Up Mushroom, and another at the bottom that the river flows through. The first Green Star is found at the bottom hole.
- Planets Visited
Wild Glide Planet (Areas 1-2)
Green Star 2[edit]
The player should redo the Fluzzard's First Flight mission. This time, when they get to the fourth area, the second Green Star is located on the tip of a mountain near the end of the course. After exiting the cave area, the player must fly to the right and carefully aim for the star.
- Planets Visited
Wild Glide Planet (Areas 1-4)
Music[edit]
The music is an arrangement of the theme from the Sky Station Galaxy mission Peewee Piranha's Temper Tantrum.
Prima Official Game Guide description[edit]
- "The Wild Glide Galaxy is home to Fluzzard, a shy but speedy bird. You must soar with Fluzzard to the finish line of this galaxy to secure the Power Stars. At first, you can only race against time, but after beating Step to the Beep in Beat Block Galaxy, you get an invitation to a competitive race for a second Power Star. Before attempting your first flight, definitely take Fluzzard up on the tutorial so you get a good idea of how to control the bird with the Wii Remote."
