Mud Troopers are zombie-like enemies in Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker and its Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 3DS ports. They have yellow eyes, blue hair, red shoes, and tan bodies. When they see Captain Toad or Toadette, they will slowly chase after them and make a distinct noise. Mud Troopers often appear in groups.
They can be defeated by landing on them, throwing a turnip at them, or using a Super Pickax on them. Players can also lure Chargin' Chucks to run through several Mud Troopers. Flaptors can also defeat Mud Troopers when they attack. Staring at one long enough with a turned-on headlamp can temporarily make them disappear; however, they will soon rematerialize.
