When the mini-game starts, the music starts playing as all the players walk around the blue mushrooms. When the music stops, it's dashing time as the players have to get the treasure chest at the middle of the red mushroom. Players may hit other player to stun them. the first player who gets the [[Treasure Chest]] wins!
The objective of the minigame is to be the first player to reach the Treasure Chest in 30 seconds. The minigame starts with the four players circling the group of blue mushrooms when the music plays. The music continues to play until it abruptly stops. Players then have an opportunity to reach the Treasure Chest in a variety of ways. Players can attack by [[jump]]ing, [[punch]]ing, or [[Ground Pound|hip-dropping]]. Players can also use one blue mushroom to reach the Treasure Chest more easily, or they can simply run towards the center and reach it. It is also possible to jump on the red mushroom without using the blue mushrooms by executing a timed jump. The player who reaches the floating Treasure Chest wins the minigame.

Musical Mushroom is a 4-Player minigame that is found in Mario Party. Its name is a reference to musical chairs.
