Why in the hell does this entry (2006) exist? Almost every game calls a green pipe a ''pipe''; the only games that use ''warp pipe'' are Mario Parties (2002+) and Super Mario Makers, and the latter only when the pipe leads somewhither. And can we talk about the Super Mario Bros. name? I was first confused by SMB as the manual calls the pipes ''flower-pots''! The blue "pipe" item is apparently the only pipe in ''Mario Pinball Land'', and blue pipes in the early ''Paper Mario'' games are just color variants used to distinguish the sewer shortcut pipes from the other pipes in the game. Plus, there are blue pipes in other games like ''Partners in Time'' that aren't split.
The same goes for the yellow pipes in ''Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga''. The color is specifically used for pipes that lead to the [[Oho Ocean Seabed]] or [[Teehee Valley]]'s underground. They have that mechanic where you have to hold up, B, and A to climb out of them, but that's it. It's just color coding to distinguish them from the "green pipes" which are used as shortcuts for fast travel between locations, much like the blue pipes in ''Paper Mario''.

Mini Warp Pipes[edit]
Do we really have to have a link to "mini warp pipes"? It just redirects to the same page. wow it's Kiryu (TC)
- Nope, circular links are indeed useless; good spottting! For future reference, if something's introduced in a game that goes by a different name but is essentially the same, that new name can just be bolded (there's actually a couple examples on this page, now including Mini Warp Pipe). However, if a seperate article does exist, just link to it and don't bold. - Walkazo 02:11, 25 January 2009 (EST)
Uh... Mini Warp Pipes was not introduced in New Super Mario Bros., it was in Super Mario World, but it wasn't possible to enter it, since Mini Mushrooms wasn't introduced yet when Super Mario World released. - Super Bluey

The Nintendo Player's Guide for Super Mario 64 consistently refers to the "Warp Pipes" in Tiny-Huge Island as Shrinker Pipes. I think that this is cause to make it into its own article, as, though it looks the same as a Warp Pipe, it has a completely different effect.

- As I've mentioned here, it seems that "Warp Pipe" was supposed to be "Warp Zone" Pipes or ones that travel great distances. I don't know if they refer to any (usually under/above-ground) transporting pipe. LinkTheLefty (talk) 21:38, April 15, 2024 (EDT)
Well in Super Mario Party Jamboree the item's name is pipe, and as BubbleRevolution said the term warp pipe isn't used as much. I literally can't recall a single time anyone used warp pipe and not pipe. So yeah the article should be renamed. Sentient freedom (talk) 05:23, September 24, 2024 (EDT)
Yes, rename. The term warp pipe hasn't gotten use in a LONG time. User:WaluigiMan10000 (talk) 1:19, Oct 19, 2024 (EDT)
