A Zap Orb is an orb in Mario Party 6 and Mario Party 7. It contains an Amp. In Mario Party 6, players can place it on a space to serve as a roadblock. It costs 15 coins at an Orb hut. Opponents that pass through a space containing the orb get shocked by the Amp, losing five coins, and an additional five coins for every remaining space they pass through on their turn. In Mario Party 7, it serves the same purpose, but opponents lose only three coins per space, instead of five. It costs 15 coins at an Orb hut. In both games, if a player passes by another Zap Orb while one is already in effect, the Zap Orbs stack up. If the player runs out of coins, the effect wears off. It is the opposite of the Flower Orb, which grants the player three coins for each space they pass.
