First appearance | Princess Peach: Showtime! (2024) |
- “In the name of Madame Grape, I will defeat you!”
- —Dark Swordfighter, Princess Peach: Showtime!
The Dark Swordfighter is a boss appearing in Princess Peach: Showtime! in the stage The Dark Swordfighter & the Arena. He is a large knight that works for Grape and is part of the Sour Bunch. The Dark Swordfighter also guards the Swordfighter Sparkla.
Princess Peach must battle against the Dark Swordfighter while in her Swordfighter Peach transformation. At the start of the battle, the Dark Swordfighter attacks by slashing with his sword. If Swordfighter Peach attempts to strike the boss normally, he will guard her attacks. Swordfighter Peach, with good timing must jump to avoid the attack and counter the boss, sending him to a wall. The Dark Swordfighter will then teleport and get back into the battle, beginning the next phase.
In phase two, the Dark Swordfighter jumps in place and thrusts his sword into the ground, sending out a shockwave. Swordfighter Peach can dodge this shockwave and attempt to jump on the boss, but he will dodge the attack and create another shockwave. If Swordfighter Peach dodges this second shockwave she will get an opportunity to deal more damage to the boss, sending him to a wall again. He will teleport back into the arena and phase three will begin.
In phase three, the Dark Swordfighter now charges forward, with his path indicated by fire. If he is attacked while he is charging, he will vanish and immediately reappear, continuing his charge. If Swordfighter Peach dodges this second charge, the boss will lose focus and become dazed, allowing for Peach to finish off the Dark Swordfighter, sending him to a wall once again, where he falls down.
After Swordfighter Peach saves the Swordfighter Sparkla, the Dark Swordfighter performs a surprise attack, as he was not truly defeated. The Swordfighter Sparkla guards against his attack, and the two swordfighters team up to vanquish the boss for good.
