Big Beanie's Castle is the eighth level of World 1 in Yoshi's New Island and the first castle level of the game. It is home to several Mame-san, one of which gets turned into Big Beanie by Kamek and acts as the level's boss. The level features Countdown Platforms, which can be stepped on a certain number of times before they disappear. It also introduces pairs of large solid blocks with smiley faces on them that slowly revolve around in a set direction and can be used as platforms; blue ones move automatically while orange ones can be activated or deactivated by hitting nearby orange switch blocks. After obtaining the key, the Yoshi can proceed through the door, where he will find the Smiley Flower above several Countdown Platforms.
