Template:Foreign names/doc

This template organizes the foreign names of article subjects and their respective meanings into a table. Note that this template is only for listing names that have appeared in official localizations in other languages. Running the English name through Google Translate or making up your own translation is not acceptable. A citation must be provided for every foreign name.

Usage

This template should be placed in the "Names in other languages" section of an article. If accompanied by {{internal names}}, then "Internal names" and "Names in other languages" should be made subsections of an "Additional names" section. The syntax is as follows:

A list of language codes can be found below. Every language code parameter supports these accompanying parameters:

• Code + R (for Romanized)
• Code + M (for Meaning)
• Code + C (for Citation)
• Code + N (for Note)

In addition, each language can be split into multiple sets of parameters (e.g. Jap2, Jap2R, Jap2M, Jap2C, Jap2N).

Meaning guidelines

The meaning is self-explanatory

Omit the M parameter to display a dash.
