Defend Plus P is a badge in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. In international versions, it can be found in the Pirate's Grotto, behind a thin waterfall accessed by using Boat Mode. It is also in the Rogueport Underground; in the room with the Warp Pipe to Petal Meadows, a pipe that runs along the ceiling can be grabbed using the Ultra Boots, and the pipe can be used to reach a platform to the left. The badge is behind the wall to the left, though it is only opened by blowing it up with Admiral Bobbery. It can also be stolen from or dropped by Chain Chomps and Bob-ulks. If the badge is equipped by Mario, it raises his partner's defense by one, reducing all damage that they take by one and making them unable to be harmed by weak enemies such as Goombas. Equipping multiples copies of the badge stacks the increase in defense. The badge has a variant that only effects Mario in the form of Defend Plus. Koops, who has a defense of one by default, will always have one more point than any other partner regardless of how many Defense Plus Ps are equipped.
