Paper Macho Gooper Blooper is a Paper Macho Soldier boss in Paper Mario: The Origami King in the form of Gooper Blooper.

History[edit]

Prior to the events of The Origami King, Paper Macho Gooper Blooper played a significant role in Bob-omb's backstory. While Bob-omb and his friends were on a luxury cruise aboard the Princess Peach, Paper Macho Gooper Blooper attacked the ship, and Bob-omb himself was tossed overboard, losing his fuse and his memories in the process.

In the present day, Bob-omb returns to the ship, having regained his memories and partnered up with Mario, in an attempt to hunt down a prized possession he left behind prior to the attack. Paper Macho Gooper Blooper is shown to still be actively patrolling the cruise's remains, having formed dozens of Not-Bottomless Holes, eaten and traumatized several of the Toad crew members, and sprayed ink all over certain rooms, in addition to the occasional shadow of itself provided through the portholes.

Eventually, Paper Macho Gooper Blooper reaches into the royal suite and swipes Bob-omb's lockbox, forcing him and Mario to chase it onto the bow of the ship, where Mario fights the Gooper Blooper. Its weak spots are the tips of its tentacles, which are marked with King Olly stickers and shatter after being hit with Mario's hammer. After all the tentacles are destroyed, Paper Macho Gooper Blooper sprays ink on the battlefield to slow Mario down and sends out waves of water that can damage Mario. Afterwards, it spins around and gets dizzy, allowing Mario to hammer the Gooper Blooper in its eye that is also marked with a sticker, damaging its body and releasing confetti. After taking enough hits, Paper Macho Gooper Blooper is defeated and explodes, releasing a group of Toads from inside (including the ship's captain), alongside a safety deposit box that Bob-omb is looking for.

A Collectible Treasure of Paper Macho Gooper Blooper (No. 89) can be found in the depths of the Great Sea. Mario must sail to a rocky reef shaped like a Blooper's head and position his boat underneath the reef; on the Sea Chart, an icon for the boat must be between the Blooper's eyes in territory E-7. He must then dive underwater using the Super Marino and grab a chest from a group of Bloopers holding it to collect the treasure.
