Snowflakes[1] appear in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze and its port as obstacles, most commonly in Forest Folly. Snowflakes move on set paths through the air, with most of them constantly appearing from above. Their movements include swaying up and down, moving on an arc, circling around, and simply descending into an abyss. If the Kongs touch a snowflake, they lose one heart from their health meter. Snowflakes can be destroyed with a thrown barrel or Tuff Tuck, or with a Cane Bounce. Near the end of Forest Folly, larger indestructible snowflakes start to float from above, breaking the wooden platforms beneath when they come into contact with them. In that section of the level, the Kongs have to go to the Slot Machine Barrel and avoid getting hit by the big snowflakes, otherwise they instantly lose a life.
