Hanging TNTs[1] are obstacles in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze and its Nintendo Switch port. Hanging TNTs are encountered in Cannon Canyon only. Hanging TNTs are clusters of explosive items, grouped and suspended from above with a rope in the same fashion as Burlap Hanging Sacks. A Hanging TNT explodes on contact with one of the Kongs touch them, damaging them and taking away a heart from their health counter. Hanging TNTs can be destroyed safely by throwing a projectile at it, such as a barrel. They are maneuvered differently, with some being raised and lowered above the ground and other swooped across it.
Explosive objects with a likeness to Hanging TNTs can also be seen in the same level. They are tucked under long tree trunks, and will explode when approached, causing the trunks to fall over and potentially harm the Kongs. Screaming Pillars from Donkey Kong Country Returns act similarly to those falling tree trunks.
