Purpose | The first character to land on a Basic Space claims it. Landing on one's own Basic Space yields coins; landing on an opponent's results in paying them coins. |

The Basic Space, also named the Normal Space,[1] is a space in Mario Party 3. Basic Spaces appear on Duel Maps commonly, and when a player lands on a Basic Space, they will "own" it, and have their face appear on the space. If the other player lands on this space, then they'll lose an amount of Coins (depending on game turns) to the player who owns the space. If a player lands on their own space, they will get the same amount of Coins. If Toad is one of the player's partners, the player will not lose Coins when landing on the opponent's space. Basic Spaces can be cleared or turned into opponent spaces when receiving certain events from ! Spaces.
