According to the judge, he received the book from Mahatma Gandhi, but he also hates Gandhi, so he decides to give it to Mario. Mario then takes it to a nearby merchant, who is interested in following in the footsteps of Gandhi and becoming a lawyer, but has misplaced his own law book.
