First appearance New Super Mario Bros. Wii (2009)
Latest appearance New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe (2019)
Variant of Icicle

Huge Icicles[1] are a type of giant and indestructible Icicle debuting in New Super Mario Bros. Wii. They mostly function identically to regular Icicles besides their larger size, except that they can be walked on top of after they fall, with some staying still while others may tilt to one side. They appear in World 3-3 and World 3-Castle.

Huge Icicles reappear in New Super Mario Bros. U and its Nintendo Switch port, being found in the courses Freezing-Rain Tower, Icicle Caverns, and Hammerswing Caverns. They function identically to how they do in New Super Mario Bros. Wii. They notably do not appear in New Super Luigi U.

Huge Icicles appear again in the stage Mushroom Kingdom U in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, where they fall from offscreen after water drips down to indicate their appearance. Anyone hit by them when they fall is frozen, and they function as platforms after landing as they do in the Super Mario games. In both of these games, Huge Icicles are generically referred to as icicles in the Tips.[2]

Wario Land: Shake It!, Super Mario Odyssey, and Yoshi's Crafted World all feature large Icicles that function very similarly to Huge Icicles.
