A flame,[1][2][3] also referred to as a fireball[2][4] or fire beast,[5] is a walking fireball enemy wearing sunglasses appearing inside of an igloo in Crystal Caves in Donkey Kong 64. Flames are encountered by only Chunky Kong, since he is the only character able to enter it. Inside, the Rabbit is tied to a TNT Barrel, and the flames walk toward it, trying to light the fuse. The object is for Chunky to prevent the flames from touching the TNT Barrel within the time limit for a Golden Banana. If a flame touches the TNT Barrel, it will explode with the Rabbit. Flames let out a short, high-pitched cackle (a high-pitched version of the cackle used by Baron Samedi in Rare's GoldenEye 007) before blowing up. Despite being made of fire, flames can still be defeated from Chunky's physical moves.
