The Secret Aquarium is one of the secret courses in Super Mario 64 and Super Mario 64 DS. The entrance to the course is to the right of the painting into Jolly Roger Bay, through a small hole up above on the wall. The Secret Aquarium and The Princess's Secret Slide are the only two hidden courses other than the Bowser courses with the same name in both versions. The Secret Aquarium is a large fish tank filled with water, so there is no place where the player character can surface for air. There are 40 Yellow Coins in rings with Red Coins in the center of the rings and on the room's floor, and collecting them prevents the character from losing all of his health. There is only one Power Star to collect, and it appears once the player has collected all eight of the Red Coins.
While not physically changed in Super Mario 64 DS, the course plays the full percussion variation of the Dire, Dire Docks theme, which does not appear in the original version.
