Snowflake Shields[1] are circular wooden objects that display the Snowmad insignia inside a white circle in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze and its Nintendo Switch port. They usually block access to some bonus rooms and other areas. Snowflake Shields can be destroyed with a throwable object or enemy, such as a barrel, a Watermelon Fuse Bomb, a Tuff Tucks, or a Wild Wendell. They are first encountered in Canopy Chaos and continue to appear occasionally throughout the game. In Meltdown Mayhem, Snowflake Shields appear as seals that hold large chunks of ice together, and the Kongs must charge Rambi into them to collapse the ice and advance.
