The brick pillars[1] are two rectangular prisms found in the Mushroom Castle's basement in Super Mario 64 and Super Mario 64 DS, in the room leading to the moat on the Castle Grounds. A sign in this room hints that the player should perform a Pound the Ground attack on the pillars; doing this while on top of one of the pillars causes it to lower slightly into the ground, where it can no longer be interacted with. When both pillars are lowered, the water in the room and in the castle moat is permanently drained.
