Pompy, also called Pompy, the Presumptuous, is the first boss in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze and its Nintendo Switch port of the same name. He is the boss of Lost Mangroves, fought in the level Big Top Bop.

Pompy is a sea lion with prominent whiskers, lavender skin and a white underbelly. He wears a stereotypical Viking helmet that resembles the ones worn by Pointy Tuckses and Papa Painguins on his head, two wristbands on his forelegs and a collar with the Snowmad insignia on his neck. He is playful, cocky and quite a showoff, shown to enjoy doing flips and tricks during his battle.

Battle

After the Kongs enter Pompy's circus tent, the lights turn on, revealing a halfpipe arena with a crowd of Tuckses sitting in the background. Immediately afterwards, Pompy makes his entrance at the opposite end of the arena, diving into his half pipe. After a few loops, he lands back where he started and spots the Kongs. Preparing to fight, he has a trio of Tuckses force the Kongs into the arena as he chuckles while clapping.

Pompy attacks mainly by diving at the Kongs, which they can counter by jumping on his back. When hit, he escapes into the water and starts throwing enemies at the Kongs. These are usually Green Finleys, but later Gordos and Sea Urchins will begin to appear. After this, he will jump back onto the stage, giving the Kongs an opportunity for another hit.

For every three hits Pompy takes, he alters his attack plan, and also gradually changes color: first from gray to a more purple color, then to a dull red. During the second phase, he will begin rolling across the arena before sliding like before; while rolling, he cannot be jumped on. He will also summon several Big Sphens to dive at the Kongs, either alongside him or while he waits in the water. During the third and final phase, Pompy will also jump onto the battlefield and target the Kongs. He will become stunned after jumping four times, at which point the Kongs can hit him again.

After taking nine hits, the Kongs are able to launch a beatdown on Pompy, sending him flying and ending the fight.
