Director's Notes (Paper Yoshi (talk))Hello, readers, and welcome to the September Issue of Pipe Plaza! I have plenty of news to share with you this month, so let's not waste any more time! First of all, in chronological order, MrConcreteDonkey (talk) unfortunately resigned from Forum Update last month, leaving a vacant spot in the Sign Up page. If you're interested in signing up for the section, be sure to send me a PM with the application form filled in. However, the team got a new writer this month; please welcome our new Featured writer, Yoshi876 (talk)!! There were also changes regarding Pipe Plaza sections: we from the Core Staff have decided to move Mario Calendar and Upcoming Games to the Main Team, as we feel that's a more suitable place for them. Additionally, and quite ironically, after removing it from the Pipe Plaza last month, a special issue of NIWA News, written by Co-Director Henry Tucayo Clay (talk), will be featured in this month's Pipe Plaza. Section of the MonthLast month's SotM poll got 11 votes, half of the 22 votes from the previous poll. The August Section of the Month, with 6 votes (54.55% of the total), is... ...Mario Calendar, for the fifth time overall!!! Mario Calendar, written by me, brings a list with all the Mario, Donkey Kong, Wario and Yoshi games released during the month in which the newest 'Shroom issue is released. Last month, we checked all the games released sometime during August. FunkyK38 (talk) got second place with her Tip of the Month, earning 3 votes (27.27%). The third-placed section was Monthly Report, also written by me, with 2 votes (18.18%). And that's all for now! I hope you enjoy this issue! Monthly Report (Paper Yoshi (talk))Welcome to this month's issue of Monthly Report!! As usual, I have no news regarding this section, so let's see the wiki statistics from September, August and July, along with August-September and July-September comparisons. (Credit goes to Stooben Rooben (talk) and Super Mario Bros. (talk) for the table coding. Stooben originally created it when writing this section back in Issues XXIII, XXV and XXVI, and SMB based his coding for Issues XXXIX, XL and XLI – which I am using in this issue – off of Stooben's coding.)
Community Report (YoshiKong (talk))Hey guys, YoshiKong here to supply you with the wiki's Community Report! So, what happened during my partial-hiatus over the past one-and-a-half-something months? Well as of now I've resumed full activity, so that happened. But here's the other important things that happened. Much preparation and planning was put into a new class and colouration system, which was updated to relect the new way to code and color templates. A "nearest neighbor interpolation" feature was added to the wiki's CSS. This enables a better visual quality of images which are scaled higher than the native resolution on pages (especially sprites). Additionally, wiki veteran Ghost Jam (talk) was reinstated as a sysop after choosing to return to an administrative position. These are the proposals which have reached a consensus in the past two months.
And these are the talk page proposals currently in progress.
And that's all for this month's edition of the Community Report. For next month, I have a few changes in mind for how this section could be displayed and formatted, so make sure to check it out. Enjoy the rest of the issue! Featured (Yoshi876 (talk))Hello and welcome to this edition of Featured. I'm Yoshi876 and I will be writing this section from now on. Featured ArticlesNo new articles have been featured. Re-featured ArticlesNo new articles have been re-featured. FA NominationsThere is only one ongoing Featured Article Nomination. Neo Bowser City was nominated for Featured Article Status on July 31st. Failed FA NominationsBianco Hills (Nominated June 15th, failed August 14th) It failed because there problems with tense, it sounded like a walkthrough, the camera movements seemed odd, and it contained a lot of unnecessary information. Unfeatured ArticlesOne article has been unfeatured in the past two months. Yoshi (series) (August 17th) It was unfeatured because essential information was missing from the Items section and only two games got substantial coverage. Unfeaturing NominationsThere are currently no FA Unfeaturing Nominations. Failed Unfeaturing NominationsNo unfeaturing nominations have failed in the past two months. And that's it for this issue of Featured. Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed. Projects Seeking Contributors (YoshiKong (talk))Hey and what's up? Welcome to Projects Seeking Contributors. This section will bring attention to any new and active projects on the wiki where input and general discussion are needed. Let's start with the most active and recent projects seen on the Wiki Collaborations forum board.
And that's it for Wiki Collaborations. Once again, see the forum board for the complete list. Discussions which concern specific issues of articles and pages can be found at Category:Talk pages with unresolved issues. Sections of the pages which have a {{Talk}} template require input to resolve an issue. And that's all for Projects Seeking Contributors. Check back here next month for any new issues and collaborations which need input. Enjoy the rest of the issue! Tip of the Month (FunkyK38 (talk))When filling in information that is not strictly related to Mario, (i.e., information about real-world items, people, places, etc.) try to use as few Wikipedia links as possible. Links to other wikis in the NIWA are fine, but try not to trace back to Wikipedia too much. We are our own wiki, and we try to keep as separate from them as we can!
NIWA News (Henry Tucayo Clay (talk))HI, readers! I'm your intergalactic Co-director, Tucayo, here with a special edition of NIWA News! For some of you, NIWA is just a template in the Main Page; for others, it's a glorified affiliates system. But truth is, NIWA is much more than that. When the Nintendo Independent Wikis Alliance was founded back in 2010, we founded it upon the premise of creating a friendly and cooperative environment to foster new wikis; hence our name, NIWA, which means garden in Japanese. Sadly, our projects have stalled over the last couple of years, producing the image of us being no more than an interwiki linking system. But we are looking to bring back NIWA back to life, and for that we have several projects:
