Trivia

Mario and Yoshi participating in the 66th Annual Quirk Quiz in the Japanese version of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. This image illustrates a pun: "4本", "6本", "8本" means "four feet", "six feet", "eight feet" while "日本" means Japan.
The pun
  • In Super Mario Bros. 3, in Water Land, on the island where the castle is, the island is shaped like Japan. Also, the castle is located right where the Nintendo of Japan Headquarters in Kyoto would be if the island was in fact really Japan.
  • In the Japanese version of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Question 3 in the 66th Annual Quirk Quiz has the choices "4本" (4 feet), "6本" (6 feet), "8本" (8 feet) and "日本", where "日本" looks similar to the previous choices which make sense, but means Japan. Its English version is "4 feet, 6 feet, 8 feet, Defeat".
