Sprite of the snake in Wario Land 3

Snakes,[1][2][3][4] also called snakes heads,[5] vipers,[6] and serpents,[6] are enemies found in Wario Land 3. They emerge from pots bearing the image of a snake's head only after the Flute from The Stagnant Swamp's Gray Chest is acquired; the Flute plays a tune that causes them to emerge. When it is first acquired, they are seen emerging from pots found in The Peaceful Village, The Volcano's Base, and The Grasslands, levels available by the time this treasure is acquired, where one snake appears in each level. They also appear in The Colossal Hole and The East Crater, where there are eight and two of them, respectively.

A snake raises its body from a pot, and when its head reaches the highest point, it breathes fire on the ground, where exposure to the flames turns Wario into Hot Wario. Wario can also jump on snakes' heads to use them as platforms to reach higher areas, or to smash-attack their heads to retract them sooner. They are otherwise invincible, though opening a nearby treasure chest can technically defeat them.
