Rocket Rails is the second level of Secret Seclusion in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze and its Nintendo Switch port. The level entails the use of both the Mine Cart and the Rocket Barrel, with classic platforming sections in-between them.

It is the only Rocket Barrel-centered level in the game where a remix of "Mine Menace" does not play.

Overview

Rocket Rails
Donkey Kong rides a Rocket Barrel between two spiked surfaces.

The level begins with platforms moving up and down, along with a Tuff Tucks, a Painguin Tucks, and a Hot Hootz. A few more moving platforms appear, and the Kongs must subsequently take out a Harold to proceed to a series of skull Blast Barrels leading to a Minecart. Some Blue Finleys and Gordos follow, and just after bouncing off of some Gordos, the Kongs exit the Minecart, and are pushed underwater. A skull Blast Barrel immediately follows, and leads to a segment with platforms and falling blocks. A Rocket Barrel segment immediately follows, and the Kongs must avoid the shifting platforms and falling blocks. After the skull Blast Barrel, the Kongs must traverse another segment with Blue Finleys and Gordos. Further into the segment, the Kongs must even bounce on a few Blue Finleys. Afterwards, one final skull Blast Barrel appears, and leads directly to the Slot Machine Barrel.

Puzzle Pieces

Rocket Rails
Donkey Kong, about to break the Purple Glass Vase containing the third Puzzle Piece.
  1. The Kongs must reach the top of the first platform with spikes on the bottom to obtain the Puzzle Piece.
  2. Upon entering the Minecart, the Kongs must bounce off of a Blue Finley to collect the Puzzle Piece.
  3. Upon exiting the Minecart, the Kongs must head left and pound the Purple Glass Vase to obtain the Puzzle Piece.
  4. After passing the Fish Poker Pops, the Kongs must roll and jump in midair to collect the Puzzle Piece.
  5. After passing the circle of Blue Hootzes, the Kongs must collect all bananas in a row to reveal the Puzzle Piece.
