Baskets of snakes[1] are obstacles that appear in Donkey Kong Land. They are the main obstacle in the level Snake Charmer's Challenge. Baskets of snakes are similar to black drums in that they spawn an infinite amount of enemies in the direction of Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong, although baskets of snakes only spawn Slippas as suggested by their name.
The Kongs can stand on a basket of snakes as on a platform, which causes it to cease spawning Slippas. There are some baskets of snakes located in midair above a wide abyss, which the Kongs can use to get across. Some baskets of snakes roll down stairs and will hurt the Kongs upon touching them; if one hits a wall as it rolls, it stops and turns upright, becoming harmless. Baskets of snakes can only be destroyed with a TNT Barrel.
