Jungle Jaunt[1] is the first level of Donkey Kong Land, as well as in Gangplank Galleon Ahoy! Similarly to Jungle Hijinxs of Donkey Kong Country, Jungle Jaunt is both the first level and jungle-themed level of the game. Its main obstacles are small abysses and some basic enemies such as Kritters and Slippas. Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong can optionally receive support from Rambi by freeing him from his animal crate.

Layout[edit]

At the start of the level, the Kongs need to walk along east through the jungle. There are some enemies as they go, and the first Kong Token in the whole game is also found right on the path. Soon, they need to jump up on a ledge, where there is the letter K. After that, the Kongs must jump down and continue up a few more ledges with Slippas on them. At this point, they need to hop up on a high treetop and leap off to the right side of it to get another Kong Token. After that, the characters must move on and grab the letter O, then keep going east, where they can find Rambi. With him, the Kongs must travel more eastward and climb up several ledges, until they get to the Continue Point.

From here, the group needs to continue on and jump over a few gaps. They can find the letter N soon after that, as well as the third Kong Token of the level. Moving on, they must avoid some Kremlings and soon get the letter G. Not very long after that, the group can see a portal which takes them out of the level.

The first and second Bonus Levels respectively
  • About halfway through the level after the letter K, the Kongs must climb up a few ledges with Slippas on them. From there, they need to jump on a tree, and then hop off the right side of it. If they fall straight down, they land on a hole in the ground, and a rope comes out. The Kongs must hold on to the rope as it moves up into the Bonus Level. The first Bonus Level takes place in a cave, where the Kongs can collect 28 bananas and a Kong Token and then leave via the exit on the right.
  • Rambi is required for entering the second Bonus Level. With him, the Kongs and Rambi must come to a wall right after the letter N. There are a few bananas in front of the wall, which Rambi can break open with his horn. The Bonus Level takes place in an underwater temple, where the active Kong can collect 34 bananas and even a Red Balloon if they are quick enough. The Kong can exit the Bonus Level from the right.
